I have just this weekend had the resonator removed from mine and I'm happier with the car now. Had been looking at loads of videos on youtube and decided to pull the trigger. The garage made a clean job of it and I retained the resonator in case I didn't like it and wanted to swap back. That said, I wish I'd done it sooner tbh - a great improvement for the money!

No drone at M'way speed but is noticeably louder above 2500rpm and this makes the DSG pops more pronounced. It's in no means obnoxious IMO but I did come from a GSXR600 with an Akrapovic exhaust system!

Which one have you had fitted?
NOW - 330e M Sport
GONE - 2018 Mk7.5 GTI Performance 5dr DSG, Tungsten Silver, 2017 Mk7.5 GTI 5dr DSG, Indium Grey

Sorry Jim, been a bit absent on the forums over the festive period.

The one on ebay from Zaustworx, £60 I think I paid. Had my local garage fit in when I had some other bits sorted.

Still enjoying it, it's an improvement over the more refined stock GTI exhaust but at the end of the day, it is still a 4 pot turbo so it's never going to sound like a VVT engine approaching it's redline!

My decrease in average MPG backs this up too, often find myself shifting a bit higher up the rev counter just for that louder DSG pop. How childish!!
