Right for those interested.

Ive been dealing with the ebay company I brought them from with a measley 1 email reply a day

as It stands they arent willing to send out a replacement shock untill I send my faulty one back for them to 'inspect' to see if its a manufacturing fault.....

How ever this leaves me car-less as I will only have time to remove the shock at the weekend then however long it takes fannying around sending it to them and then for them to 'inspect'

I How ever offered to pay a 'deposit' down to which they send me a new replacement shock so I can swap it for the old one and not be car-less.

The company want a deposit of £80 which I thought was very steep for a single front shock considering the complete set up front and rear cost £170. to which they will refund the £80 deposit to me if they deem it a manufacturing fault or keep the deposit if its found a non manufacturing fault.

What should I do???  :undecided: as the customer care at the minute is very poor I feel and I can see it going tits up if they deem it a 'non manufacturing fault' to which they have then shafted me £80 for a single replacement shock  :undecided:

opinions and advice needed ?

Doesn't sound like there's much stopping them from just keeping the £80 to me?

I agree or it getting "damaged" in the post........ they could come back with anything

Surely from pictures they could tell if it's a manufacturing fault?

from a buisness point of view in a way they doing this to protect them selfs the £80 seems abit steep maybe 40-50 but 80 abit high. they as i would in my shop have to be sure that it faulty. as they cant just take your word/picture for it. it crap but it the way it is. end of day there people out there that would  claim faults when it was misuse etc BUT BUT i will say we have in the past even given free replacements on trust the customer would return which so far all have. BUT it abit different through the lovley internet non face to face buisness we now deal with.  i would say to them that £50.00 deposit be ok then do it through paypal. send it signed for delivery with pictures (with date on camera) to prove condition
