Yes it is. Is there a way around this?

Hmmm... Perhaps better off trying to get it to fit first?

If its an Ibiza you have a smaller diameter gasket as standard which Golf owners tend to fit to their cars to cure the infamous PD stutter

Id send it back and buy one you dont have to fcuk around with
