Problems with my MK4!!!
« on: 26 March 2010, 15:57 »
Having problems with my MK4 and I can see that i'm not alone!!!

1st, the Reverse Lights stopped working, changed the bulbs but nothing happening.

Then the indicators stopped working but they did work when i used the hazzard buttons. This then stopped after 2-3 flashes!!

But it does still flash when i lock & unclock the car with the remote key fob!!! Now...1 get one flash on the hazzard, and when the alarm set/resets!

The rear suspension bushes have gone and the exhaust has come loose underneath ( doesnt blow, sound different or hang low at all) so need to get it reattached in the centre section this weekend.

The screen detailing MPG, temp etc has started (1-2 per week) not coming on when I switch on the ignition so i have to stop, switch it off & back on again and it miraculousy works again!

any ideas about how much it would cost to fix this?

A friend recokons the electric fault might be the relays??? or switches as they supposedly common on these models?

Hazard switch has gone I suspect - new switch is about £30 from the dealers - you replace the whole switch

Reverse lights could be down to the switch.
