RCD510 + DYNAUDIO: Missing some bass...
« on: 19 October 2009, 15:07 »
Got the RCD510 plus DYNAUDIO, but im missing some bass "umpf". Anyone upgraded their system with a 10" or 12" sub? Im looking to get one of those, probably the shallow ones, to occupy less space in the boot? can anyone suggest a decent setup?! gracias!

Hi

i have wk 48 build golf gti with RCD510 (without dynaudio) and was planning on using my 12inch vibe sub with this unit. has anyone tried this????

i have been unable to find out whether the RCD510 has any pre-amp outs? im guessing not! having spoken to ICS who fit subs, they said that they can use the speaker channels to get a signal if it does not have any pre amp outs. has anyone tried anything similar to this??

i also spoke to VW who told me that the warranty would become void, if say the RCD510 unit had a problem which was a result of doing this(which is fair enough), however i was told that if it was something else electrical which is not related to sound system, the warranty should be fine.

any thoughts or advice???

There may be an Aux out from the RNS510, but IIRC it's difficult to tap into as I did investigate getting an RNS510 and was interested on how to connect it up.

You can either get a powered sub with speaker level inputs - or buy a line level converter and run either from the rear speakers.

cheers mate, i spoke to an ICE fitter today and they told me a similar thing to your post above. something about a high / low converter to get a signal from the rear speakers i think he said!

still got a while to decide what i want to do.
