Sony Set-up

jus got MK3 golf with the original sony tape head unit & 10 disc changer, tried to get it out to check for pre-outs ( So i can attach amps & keep original set )but couldn't. Sumeone said these head units are alarmed, is this true, if so how do i get around that?

remove the surround by taking out the screws behind the vents. then you can lift the lot out in 1 go. should be able to see what's going on then. makes it easier to get it back in too.

Jus F-up, took the screws out of the front of the unit, now the radio alarm is going off. how do i stop it any ideas???

Couldnt get it out, so i disconnected the one of the batteries in the unit that powers the alarm
