I'm not surprised. They give away fuel in a promo, but advertising that they are giving it away......noooo

I've never seen them advertise anywhere in the press or tv.
What they mostly do is just put a banner up on their stations informing people.

From what i know they do these promos 1/2 times a month.

By the looks of it not all of their stations participate but a good 98% do as this promo was posted on another site aswell and people from all over the uk were confirming it.

Not a happy man... I've just come back from my determined quest to find a Shell garage in Ipswich that has this offer - because I'm a tight b88t8rd - and after visiting 5 out of 6 stations none of them have cheaper V-Power (I ran out of time for the 6th and knowing my luck and Sod's Law, it was probably participating in this offer).  Anyway, I started off the journey with 50 miles left in the tank and came back with 20 miles left     Would have been pointless finding a participating garage at that rate as I would have only broken even

One thing I did notice was that when I accelerated quite hard in both S and D Modes, the turbo sounded quite wheezy and I haven't noticed that before.  I'll keep an eye on it for a few weeks and if it gets any worse then I may go to the dealer.

Nope V-power was normal price near me today.

Mind you I filled up with Tesco 99 last week. The car seemed to like it and the tailgate was not as sooty as it is when I use V-power.

No drop off in performance with the wheezy noise?

From the user comments it appears to be just some garages. Thats a shame. Theres 2 garages near me and both had the offer on today. They told me they will be repeating it in 3 weeks

Maybe the Mk5 drivers on this forum should organise a visit to one of the Shell stations in your area in 3 weeks then       Imagine the look on the cashier's face

I was on the prowl locally for this offer, I couldnt find anywhere locally either.

Still £1.05.9 here in East Anglia.

If fuel keeps increasing I may have to sell a Kidney to help with the weekly fill up.

Hmmmm..... tihnk you might be right there!! But i think mine prefers the Tesco stuff... tried the v-power and it wasnt that much diff from the 97ron sainsburys stuff i used to use. However im still only on like 3k so maybe its just the loosening up thats makin it feel defferent. Havent used the sain's or v-power for a while now.

Your turbo sounding wheezy. Sounds like intercooler pipe comming off. My mates seat has had this put back on twice now.

By the way Hurdy, your Edition is looking quality in the recent pics I've seen, loving the sig by the way.

cos our government taxes fuel at 70%   basically for every £1, 70p ends up straight in the governments pocket
