the white one is sh!t hot!!!!! how do they get it so low on the back arch??? sick!!

Wow..... they look amazing. Coming to think of it, a white Edition 30 might have been a better choice  Still, I'm too much of a coward and too fickle to have chosen white... only yesterday I was thinking to myself that I had made the right choice with black and now today I'm going weak at the knees after seeing another Candy White stunner.

i have a black gti but wanted white, couldnt find one for a good price, they look awesome

It would have been the RIGHT choice!
P.S. This lowered candy white GTI in the pictures I just don't like. The rims are awful!   Arabs and rappers like this type of rims... total bling  no finesse whatsoever. Even stock Peskaras look 10 times more sophisticated
The black one is great! Silver Detroits is what you SHOULD have on a black GTI, PERIOD! mmm
-
i went for the grey as its not white and not black.. kinda in the middle.. lol... while is good but ur gona have to clean every day! black , well i had a black car and got fedup of every scratch and dir turning it grey.

wrong, Steve!
It is kindof milky white, so yes, you do see dirt on it, but not as much as you think! Trust me, I have the white GTI, and when it is dirty it looks cleaner then similarly dirty black one.
-
Just needs a light shower or the winf to blow up the dust and my black GTI is dirty

Precisely!
Black IS beautiful, but THE hardest to keep looking great. Black is gorgeous when it has its lustre, when it reflects like a mirror. But white is always white, if you know what I mean.
For me it was a choice between black and white, and I went with white because it was nice contrast to wheels and because there are toooooo many black cars around.

what am i wrong about

you don't have to clean it everyday.

....Yes, they both look great but running such a low suspension on the road does not result in the best handling because the tyre has very limited travel.
-
The white one looked spot on.
-
Manu_GTI take a look on VWVortex. Thsoe cars come off that site.
I agree that the white GTI looks . Rims are awesome but must be a pain to keep clean.

I have to say that I don't like aftermarket rims on Golf GTIs - very very few pull it off. However, the white GTI in the photos is one of those exceptions I think as the alloys are BBS    Although I agree they are quite shiny and 'in yer face' but hey, its BBS and its class.

I prefer Lorinser LM6. My absolute favourite silver rims. Saw them on a Benz, my goodness, mmmm

what id like to know Peskarik is i know you live in switzerland and your not allowed to wash your car by law, so how on earth do you keep your white car clean!?? :undecided:

you are right, it is not allowed to go out with a bucket and a cloth on the street and do some Sunday cleaning.
I go to Best Carwash in Zurich. Nice place. Was there last saturday, and saw quite a number of -cars there, including yellow Lambo Gallardo, blacked-out and tuned Porsche Turbo, MB AMG ML63, and a coupe of Mazeratis. Quite a number of tuned cars, especially Seats.
It is a nice place, they even have a 1000-litre aquarium thru which the recirculated water for the wash runs.
And in the evening, I was strolling downtown, and my hands were getting cold, but luckily a guy pulled up in his Ferrari, so when he parked and left I was able to warm my hands over Ferrari's engine bay's ventilation holes.
Here is the address, if you ever in Zurich:

P.S. Only washed the car twice in the last 3 months, so one wash every 3500km :nerd:
I had to wash it on Saturday because the back was getting really sh!tty, the sides were fine though.
-
I saw a photo of those silver Lorinzer rims on a black Golf V GTI. They looked great!
Personally, I am very very happy with my black Monzas (still keep looking at them in shop windows when I drive by  :embarassed:).
-
this might sound a bit random but how the hell does the owner of the white one in the picture get it sooooo low, also do you think it may be abit of a pain on the road, i.e uncomfy shakey?? looks soooo good

definitely a pain on the road (there is no spring travel left), plus what Robin said - it does not handle so well probably.

....That's terrible!! Does that mean you can't handwash your car!?   Drive-through carwashes are very bad for modern car paintwork   .
The backs of our Golf hatchbacks always get dirty first.
-
any chance of a full car picture when its really filthy!!

as far as I know there are no places where you can go and personally hand wash your car. In Sweden, where I was raised, there are places like that. This Best Carwash is a drive thru, but they have people who spray the car with some stuff before it goes in, and then they final-dry it by hand (that is, after the blower). They put some kind of polymer lacquer protection on the car and then some kind of UV resistant, water repellent polish based on nanotechnology.. but it seems to be ok that polish, I must say
Anyway, for me that is the only option to have my car cleaner, and, also, the only place I'd go to.
If you want to have your car handwashed and polished they provide that service, too. About 450 CHF. Teflon polish - 800CHF (they also give you a certificate that protection lasts 3 years )
I will get my car handpolished next year. :lipsrsealed:

now my baby shines like the sun
when it gets dirty I'll take some pictures and post in this forum.
I've driven my car for a month without cleaning, went to France twice, thru rains etc, but it stays quite clean (obviously the dirt is there, but not THAT noticable). Maybe the roads are cleaner here, I don't know...
-
why the hell is it illegal to wash your car in switzerland?? :undecided:
-
Because they are a country of car haters. If I lived close to the border I'd have to cross it every sunday with a bucket and cleaning products!

You have to be joking?! BBS LM's? The finest VW wheel in the world ever. God has a set.
-
arabs and rappers! ha ha surely they're all rocking 22" chrome spinners?! bbs lm's are some of the finest wheels ever made! total bling and no finese? can't understand that at all, they are like the ultimate incarnation of a classic rim!

there are way too many spokes, they dazzle my eyes
but I like the deep lip
and I like the dice dustcaps (I have metallic dustcaps with GTI logo on mine)
overall, these BBS rims are not to my liking, Detroits are simpler, easier on the eyes, and therefore more attractive
-
I find them rims tastless.
what madness is this?! not that i have anything against standard mk5 alloys, but not liking BBS lm's is tanatamount to blasphemy!

^^^^^agree with Joe^^^^^^^

Lorinser LM6, Porsche Cup, rims on Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, Monza 2 - these rims I like. BBS may be front line technology etc, but the designwise they make me wanna yawn.... ¨
don't burn me on the stake, though

BBS look class on all vw's!

and heres me thinkin you had taste with a sweet looking ed30!!

IMO LM's are the dogs dangles - however i'd prefer to wash the dogs dangles than a set of them - what a pain in the arse - at the cost of them it would have to be at least once a week - i have better things to do like wash my own!
The white car looks very similar to one kicking around my back yard in Aberdeenshire???
-
Went to get a price for the BBS LM's...4500 Euros with Michelin PS2's or....the BBS CH...2600 euros With Michelin PS2's.....so thats about £3000 for the LM's and around £1600 for the CH's  Gotta wait till my bday...bring on 2nd December!!!!

What, Manu are you expecting a lot of birthday money!!
Bit more on the detailing front, those guys can work miracles, just look at the turnaround on this S4 (which is in sh** state btw, some people don't deserve nice cars!)

And here is another post by V12MSM (owner of the black GTI), showing what can be done when your GTI is looking a tad dirty, in the words of Roy Castle "dedications what you need". Nice work fella
