So I went ahead and ordered a set of these last week, as soon as i got them through the post i fitted them within the hour, taking about 1.5 hours. Totally love them! Comes with 4300k HID's. The LED's are now wired up (jumped pins 4 and 10) to act as both DRL's and parking lights and act as OEM behaviour. Completely finished off the front end. I am aware that the LED's and the 4300K HID's are slightly different in colour, but it doesn't really bother me
Here are some pictures:

Really updates the front end, its deffo going to be my next upgrade on mine.
Can I ask where you got the lights from and how easy/difficult they were to fit?
cheers, Chris
-
Hi Chris
Got them from Xenonz.co.uk, he gave me a discount price. But you can get them from china for cheaper from vacar.com.cn
Installtion was relatively easy, here are some links i used for reference

I expected it to be more difficult, but in reality it was quite straight forward. Hardest part was disconnecting the connectors from the origional headlights

Wish i had seen these before i went through the toil of the OEM ones. They look great!!!!!

Just bought some of these for my Mark 6... Did you have to code the DRL's with VCDS or VAGCOM? :)

I did indeed. Codes used:
Byte 14 bit 3 (shutters)
Byte 15 bit 6 and 7
Byte 19 (forgot which bit - the one to uncheck the inactive bulb life extender - important for HID's to ensure them to work correctly. It sends a smaller voltage up front before the full voltage to ensure the life of the bulbs and also to prevent errors)
Byte 24 bit 7
Byte 27 bit 2
All in all, this makes sure the LED's are coded as DRL's, gets rid of bulb errors from both HID's and LED's, and safety measures to prolong the life of the bulbs :)
If you code it like this, the LED's are coded as DRL's and they won't come on with the Low-beams. If you want the LED's to also come on with the low beams, you have to use a wire to jump pin 4 and 10 on the connector. Without the jump wire, it's either DRL's or sidelights

No problem man. It took me ages to look for the right codes trailing through so many threads on golfmk6.com. Eventually someone there helped me out - even worse that I don't have vagcom myself and have to go through a VAG specialist to get it coded

JayGTD can you mind what byte 19 is on the long code? mines set to FF which is way unusual. I've done a spreadsheet with known coding for bi xenons with drls and byte 19 is either 88 or 86! so if you know what yours is it would be helpful.

Honestly I've no idea mate, I had it done at a Vag specialist and they just checked the boxes I told them to :( unfortuantely i don't have a cable myself

Bugger looks like i'm going to have a look at what check boxes are checked on byte 18. I'll look tomorrow when i've time. Thanks tho.

Byte 19 allows you to select which voltage you send to your headlights and tail lights. As an example 88 the first digit is for tail lights are 13v and the second digit 8 is headlights on 13v. So 88 is headlights and tails both set to 13v. To set the 2nd part of the byte code to 6 this would mean the headlights set to 12.8v. So tails 13v and headlights 12.8v. Mine set to FF states that headlights and tails set to "a fixed eeprom" can anybody shed any light on that....and forgive the joke!
Before anybody asks yeh i went back to the car to try and connect it back up and change byte 19 to either 88 or 86 but it wont connect with the module?

As the above post here's a link to my auto scan on VWgolf.net.au you can see from the fault code that it registers 14.10v...so by changing byte 19 to me thinks 86 that may clear that fault. I'm waiting for the VCDS cable i ordered today so i can change the code!

Do you know if the version 12.12 cracked/none genuine cables you can crab off amazon for maybe £30 work? I know you have to disconnect off te Internet to prevent it from updating

Did work, people had it on loan and it came back didn't work straight away but stuck it into the other USB and worked then when i decided to go and change byte 19 for reasons above it wouldn't work again. I ordered VCDS from Gedan last night at 16:50 emailed about half an hour later and it'll be here say about 10 o clock. Some service!Swansea to the Scottish Borders in 12 hours from ordering.
-
VCDS came yesterday and tried byte 19 at 86, thats headlights with 12.8v going to them still threw an error, changed again to 88 with 13v now going to the headlights and...wait for it no errors. WHOO HOO.

Congrats! That's good to hear. Mind if I borrow the cable? :p I wanna try out some fancy tweaks like gauge sweep

I would be ALL over these if the LED's didn't have a 6000k led colour temp

I prefer this colour to OEM's 4300k :p i think Audi OEM DRL LED's run around 5000-6000k too

What is the overall fitment like of the unit as a whole, any gaps ??

These are supposed to be the best fitment none-OEM projectors out there, better than the china ones. You know what, at first I thought they were terrible because they didn't touch the bumper at the bottom and left about a cm gap, turns out I didn't hook them onto the little clips at the bottom! I'd say they're 100% spot on

Decent, anyone or yourself tried their version of the rear led's. Is it worth the £75 saving over the oem option?

Mine came with em sorry mate! Try contacting them! If you look on golfmk6, there are a tonne of threads from the US about these kinda reps, most if not all seem 100%, especially the depo ones
