I'm a very hopeful but unconfirmed BW50, so for the moment I'm in your gang. Jolly well hope I stay here and it don't slip back when it's finally confirmed. Recently added PP to the order, so cross fingers won't affect the BW!!!! :wink: When did you order?

If it is built in BW 50, then I reckon you've got no hope of a Christmas delivery - I would expect your delivery will be mid-Jan at the earliest...

5dr Manual, Ref Silver, PP, Sat Nav, Dynaudio, Pano roof: Ordered it 18th Sept. So looking at BW41/2's they should be on the boats coming over in 8 weeks time. You were VERY lucky mate getting that cancellation! Right place, right time. You might want to consider the winter pack too, leather seats feel mighty cold in winter! I've got it in current car, it's nice to have the seat warmer. :rolleyes:

Just on that point - I believe you get the headlight washers and low washer fluid warning light as standard with the Xenons - well according to the VW website spec & brochure anyway, so the winter pack for leather is just the heated washer jets

I was estimated BW 50, cant check the tracker till I get home now but I hope mine moves forward too!
I cant pick mine up till after Christmas anyway as im away but it would make things easier if I could get it between Christmas and new year.
ps anyone else squeezing the last bits of life out of their old car as you know the new one is on the way?! my Alfa Mito is getting a thrashing :)
Edit: looked at the tracker and I've been bumped forward to 48 :smiley:

I jumped from a BW50 to BW48 so am a happy bunny....9 days and counting to the start of build.... :whistle: fingers crossed it starts on the confirmed Build date :laugh:

Yep, build week 8/12/13 (Wk50) for me this morning after an age on Order with factory. I was told 24 week lead time when I ordered mine which made delivery mid February. Hope its sooner!!!

Just checked tracker and have also moved to confirmed for build week 08/12/13 (wk 50) :smiley:. Ordered on 05/09/13 so not had too long a wait.
Depending on when it reaches the dealer may have a decision to make.
Originally happy to wait for a 14 plate but if it arrives mid January will be sorely tempted to just take it!!

Tracker gets updated on Sundays - I checked yesterday and as usual it goes off-line for a while and does not recognise your order - then comes back in the evening updated.

Got a text from the dealer this morning, the car is in build. :cool: He should be able to tell me which boat it will be on by early next week.

Just off the phone with VW customer services, thank you for your help Mohammad.
My car is currently in build, though the tracker hasn't been updated.
What he told me was that due to the Christmas holidays my car will probably be on a boat in the new year, he doubts that it'll be shipped before Christmas. :cry:
He even suggested that I might not see it till February and that I'd be better off waiting for a new 14 plate.
This car better be worth it. :evil:

Most of us BW 50 will change to build in progress as the online tracker does this automatically when the build week has passed..I think that our cars have already been built and the tracker is one week behind. Do not go by what the tracker is telling you it is only a rough guide as to what is going on. Contact your dealers for a true update. :smug:

Yes, my car was BW49, but the tracker didn't move onto Build in Progress until the week after, like yours. It still states it in progress today - But the dealer told me last Tuesday that it's built and waiting at Emden. So Tambourine is right, yours is very much likely to be built already! :grin:

I only know this because all that i have been doing for over five very long months is reading the treads in this excellent forum. I ordered my CSG GTD on the 15th July and its been one hell of a wait. However good things come to those who wait, And information is truly power.!!!!

Our car has gone straight from in build last night to having arrived at the dealer. WTF!!

1. Is the car awaiting collection in Emden Germany? - yes
2. Has the car been loaded onto the ship? - not yet but there are ships sailing on the 23rd & 30th Dec & also 1 on the 6th Jan so I would think your car should be on one of those
3. What is the ships name? - car not shipped so no name yet
4. When will the ship reach port? would be a few days weather depending
5. What port will it land in? - TYNE
6. From when it’s unloaded in port how long will it take to get to your dealership? - looking at 7- 10 days
7. How long will it take for your dealership to PDI the car? - can turn car round in 48 hours
8. When will you organise a transport carrier to deliver it to Glasgow. as soon as cars arrives will organise transporter
9. When I expect delivery? - I think you will be looking the week commencing the 20th January

Spoke to my dealer this morning. The car only left Wolfsburg yesterday. It's been checked in at Emden today. I've been told that there are 2 ships scheduled over the Christmas-New Year period so I should expect deivery WC 6th Jan.

Emailed the dealer last night to confirm if the tracker was correct that our car was with them but as anticipated, no reply. Will give the salesman the benefit of the doubt that he was on a day off!!
Are the rest of the BW50 people still moving forward step by step on the tracker. Still cant understand how ours jumped from in build straight to at dealer as surely each step should have taken a certain amount of time?
I'm not complaining but until its confirmed I'm finding it hard to believe!!

Today was one of the days my dealer had said that BW50 cars could be on a ship.
If I hear anything I'll let you all know about ship names and stuff, may even give VW a call.
Keep us posted if any of you hear anything.
I know now that nowt will get done before 2014 however just knowing the cars have landed in the UK will make my festive break that oh so much better :laugh:

I have just come of the phone to a very nice lady from VW customer service sales team, And i was informed that my order is in transit, :smiley: However it has not left the factory as yet and therefore it will not be on any of the ships what are leaving today.. She also states that even if the car was in port it takes ten working days for all the paper work to be done before it can leave emden, :cry: Is this True?????

I am wk51 and checked with the dealer on Saturday as mine had moved to in transit. He said that had been cleared to be shipped so it could be on a boat and in the dock in uk before the new year. So I think if I am a week behind you, yours should be cleared.

Just popped into my dealer and it looks like I should be able to pick up my GTI on Saturday. Will find out on Thursday when my salesman is back if it will happen or not, I hope so I'm getting exicted now!

I know it's been shipped to Tyne, anyone any idea from now how long it will take till I receive it.
I can't wait!!
My only concern is I'm getting this car during the worst possible months of weather, though I think it'll be a good test of the cars ability.

I know. But it just seems to be the luck of the draw. Also, the festive season has not helped! The wait will be worth it! No Christmas is out of the way, it will soon be here :smiley:

Normally about a week, My dealer phoned me on Christmas eve to tell me it arrived in the UK and I will be picking up tomorrow morning at 10am. I saw it for the first time this morning and it looked great :laugh: I did notice that the GTI side badge was part red, I thought that they changed to just chrome at BW45? I much prefer the red badge so guessing I'm lucky?

I was hoping that it may be comming as planned but I have not had any confirmation and have pretty much given up on expecting it this week. It is a company car and I don't have the option of tracking the vehicle and the communication from the provider has been very poor, something that I would not accept if I had ordered it as a private buyer. But I am still like a kid at Christmas waiting for the arrival but the only problem is I don't know when Santa will be arriving :cry: :cry: :cry:

Feel for you, must be hell being kept in the dark. And then the only bits of info you do get are putting arrival dates back. I just asked them for the VW order number and I've tracked online since ordering.

Thank you both for the support... you are right, it does keep you sane and give's hope when you hear of other cars arriving. Did not know about being able to track my order (my last car was with Lex - fantastic comany, this company - not so) and you are right, the time has come to kick ass... no more Mr nice guy :angry:

I called the dealer this morning and he said that they were expecting the GTD in today / tonight. I have since had a call back from them this afternoon saying that the car had arrived and I have now have a confirmed delivery date of 9am Friday 17th Jan... so I make that only 180hrs to go :grin: :grin: :grin:

Got a call from my dealer today. Car will be delivered Monday morning and they will have it ready by lunch time. That's a fast turn around :laugh:

Sounds like a rush job, just ensure the do the PDI properly.

Yeah seems to quick to PDI and clean, unless you have asked for it to be un prepared.

Ya I had told them not to clean it.
It arrived out of the blue today! The delivery was booked for Monday but I'm not complaining. They got it registered today and started the pdi. It will be ready for collection tomorrow. It was filthy so I asked them to give a wash down with the power hose.
