Put car into my local vw to get rear camera sorted, photo's below show what I was greeted with.....
Gutted, thought vw garages were equipped with more than a sharp screw driver ??

Wtf straight back it can be fixed standards obviously they haven't got any
-
Fook me that's terrible! I hope they're fixing it?
-
That's shocking  Have you taken it up with them? What are they proposing to do about it? Where do they find these people
I had a replacement tyre fitted today and the incompetent f*ckwits have marked the alloy
-
That's an absolute disgrace, some of these dealers should be closed.
I would report that immediately to VW customer services.
I have had that trim off my car three or four times for various upgrades and never marked it once.
-
f**k*rs, hope there going to sort it out.
-
I Called them up to complain so was told to email them photos ,no reply to email so a wk later i phoned them (yesterday) to ask what are they going to do about it, was told technician that worked on car is off ill so they cant ask did he remove/damage stereo or not.
But basically reading between the lines what the manager said was , why would the technician remove the stereo just to do a software update, so it looks like they are going to back him and deny it, so it will be my word against his??
-
I would be kicking off big time lol, say to them would you be happy if you we're in my shoes, then see what they say to that,
-
Email vw uk complain complain complain they are muppets
-
Don't leave it at that. They're just playing dumb in the hope that you'll go away. Escalate it further up the line to VW UK as suggested
-
A smart repairer will be able to repair the damage so it can be put right

Have you retrofitted anything? If not then who else would've taken the dash trim off if not VW??? >:(

thats the problem with the people at the dealer its just another car to them.
When i took my car in for a service and to get one wheel changed because of white worm i got the car back with a brand new wheel and the other wheel curbed. they did fix it for free but the guy i was dealing with didnt seem to be all there constantly gettin confused and forgetting conversations regarding the me bringing the car in.
I would change to another dealer but they are a bit out of the way for me.
-
Well after wks of waiting for a reply from vw complaints department, been told they cant do anything to help as they say vw garage's has specialised equip to remove stereo therefore shouldn't have caused any damage therefore they cant prove technican caused damage as they never seen car before hand! Complete and utter tossers!!...
-
thats ridiculous.
did u spot the damage before you left the dealers.
When i had a problem with them damaging my car i made sure i spoke to the manager straight away and he got it sort.
Thats the problem with these large companies they can always get out of paying for damage they cause.
-
As a technician myself for VW, thats awful.
All the guys at my place have special plastic trim tools, and I have never damaged a trim like that.
Even if I did damage a trim somehow, it would always be reported, and ordered to be replaced.
Some technicians, and garages just have no interest, and really couldnt care about others property. Shocking really!

No it wasn't till i got home i noticed damage,
Yeh they always riggle out of responsibility somehow! For all the cost in a replacement fascia i would had thought garage would changed it and just said nothing to me. Cowboys..

You do realise your gonna get loads of technical type questions now? You should get your dealer to do a promotion on servicing for forum members, they'd be inundated!
-
Would be handy, we see plenty of GTI's come through, cant beat working on a nicely cared for GTI or R/R32.
Thing is most of them that come in are a state, doesnt seem to be many enthusiasts! :(
-
 you would think they would take a lot more care.
-
I know hindsight is a great thing but when you book your car in for any work, get the person booking it in to come and inspect it with you. Put the onus back onto them.
Certain garages now couldn't give a toss. I've had paint scratched and wheels damaged in the past. Yet when you complain, they make out as if you have done it yourself and trying to pull a fast one!! Its a disgrace.
-
Finally got a reply !!
Further to checking with the technician who carried out the work on your vehicle, & being shown how the type of stereo in your vehicle is removed,
We are certain that the damage shown on the photographs were not caused by the work carried out in the workshop, However, as a goodwill gesture, we will replace the bezel for you around the Heater controls, This part has been placed on order for you & we will contact you when it has arrived to arrange replacement of it
-
Still no admission of fault, but at least you got a result and the worst of it will be replaced. Let's hope they do a better job fitting the new part than their last effort!
-
Are they for real.. I know how the stereo come out and thats exactly the locations some careless onk would damage.
They damaged everywere trying to slide tools below the trim round the radio simples.
