...Like this one I mean :

Were they limited edition or something, because personally I think they are far nicer than the black ones and therefore should be more common and easier to get hold of... :undecided:. They seem to be more common in automatics and cabriolets for some reason.
I really want a set of these but cant find a decent set anywhere... does anyone have a set they would sell? Or am I best to just buy a cheap cloth set and get them recovered in cream leather?
Cheers

They are about mate. Try asking people breaking vr's and try Stevens Volkswagen dismantlers

Thanks for the imput so far guys, the picture at the top is of one which Steven's Volkswagen dismantlers are selling. It could well be that one which you saw on ebay Dogbot althoough I may be wrong. The problem with that interior is that it doesn't come with door cards and there is some dodgy orange mark/stain on the rear bench and there is some bolster wear too. In saying that they have reduced them in price from £250 but they're still a trek away to pick up and even then they could be a bit buggered elsewhere... It's a tricky one really.
Oh also, this is probably a dumb question, but the ones above Recaro seats aren't they? (I only ask because only some of the cloth ones in that shape have recaro stiched into the back-rest).
I'm currently looking for people breaking vr6's too - cheers Tweed

Hahaha, on second thoughts, it looks like you didn't come across the stevens volkswagen dismantlers cream leather seats. Thankyou - the only problem is they are for a 3-door - DAMN. I'll still look into them though thankyou
-
Cheers for the responses so far guys
Does anyone have are 5-door Cream Leather interior which they are selling? Or know anybody who is?, let me know .
Also, does anyone have any idea as to how much it would cost to get mk3 seats and door cards re-trimmed in cream leather... i'm guessing it would cost a lot more than it is worth, but thought I may aswell ask anyway

Yeah I think your both right actually. Must have got it into my head that they are cream (probably because it sounds nicer )

What are they? were they only in VR6's? And is the only difference between the these and the gti ones the stitching across the middle of them?

I know yeah it's just more the door card issue. Although I might consider it in the future if I cant find a set
-
They look grey to me as well and as Wayne mentions, they don't look like the bolsters are deep enough to be GTI seats therefor more likely from a GL.

That is correct, they were only an option on GL's with dragen green paint, VR's and GTI's never got them so they are standard seats.
-
They weren't only an option on Dragon green mk3's, mine came from a lightish metallic blue GL, very similar to the OP's car. It had only done 30k miles, so the seats are in great condition!
As mentioned, the bolsters on the back section are ever so slightly smaller than my old GTI seats, but the bolsters on the seat section actually seem a little bigger, certainly more huggable/holdable.
They are indeed grey, but a very light shade of.

I didn't know its only the GL's which came with these grey leather interiors, I would have just thought they where an optional extra for all trim levels, as I found this original looking VR6 with the grey leathers so but maybe they were added at a later date :undecided: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270791733310?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I even offered the guy £300 for the interior plus my CL interior :lipsrsealed: :lipsrsealed: he wasn't best pleased understandably, but it was worth a try

I didn't know there where so any interior variations for mk3's, I just thought the grey ones that you have were just gti seats but covered with one of 3 leather colours and with different stiching patterens in the centers... In saying that, I've only just noticed that the grey/cream (grey) ones which I'm after are not actually recaros today. They looked pretty similar until i put two pics of them together and I noticed the recaros have bigger head rests and bolsters and different stiching in the centers again.
I came across this last night, these would be my ideal seats... (see 5th picture down): http://www.swdubs.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2726

Cheers for the offer mate, don't go especally for me, but if you are passing by there and don't mind I would appreciate it, the set stevens have is the very first image in my original post. It doesn't come with the door cards sadly (i dont think), and its got some dodgy orange stain on the rear bench and when I asked them if it could be cleaned off they were a bit :undecided: reluctant to give me a decent answer so I dunno if its stained permanently and they don't want to let on until the deal is done sort of thing... and also the bolsters are a bit wrecked i think. But yeah if your passing then I would greatly appreciate some extra photos + info etc... Cheers

Hmmm, I think the rear seats are different on the cabrios, and they have that big headrest thing aswell, but that dash sounds interesting
-
ill ask him tomo mate, not sure if he will still have it all as it was a while ago he ripped it out a fitted black stuff
will get back to you :-)

You were asking about cream, grey is different as that was available on VR's ,cabrio rear seat is very different, also Recaros on a mk3 were not offered from the factory in leather however many people have had them recovered.
-
The rear bench is definitely different, it's more like a two seater and has a large sweeping curve on the top section. They don't fold down either.
-
Any idea on how much it would cost to have all 4 door cards, front and rear seats and maybe parcel shelf re-trimmed in smooth leather... or grainy...? has anyone had this done? I get the reeling it would be about £900.00 for real leather and therefore would not be worth paying for.

Foook., I'm guessing thats why very few have it done then.
Anyone on here ever had asection of leather (e.g. bolster) replaced, I wouldn't mind buying a second hand set with bolster wear if I could get them repaired well enough so that you can hardly tell the difference. Things like that really bug me, hence why I still do not have body coloured bumpers and mirrors on my golf yet

Yeah, when I asked about the orange stain on that set of leathers, they like, we are breakers and would have no idea what would have been spilt on it and if it will come out blah, blah, blah. Very pleasent, so plesent that I felt even more compelled to buy that interior

If you find sets of seats that have collapsed bolsters but the leather hasn't torn, you can replace the bolster yourself with the base from some normal gti passenger seats. I've done it, so have a few others.

Anyone else seen a decent grey leather interior for a 5 door? I keep searching, almost on a daily basis but never find out. Where else would you guys reccomend searching for them besides ebay, the forum's classifieds and even google...?
I know there out there somwhere, but just can't find them... Any advice anyone?
Appreciate everyones advice so far guys, cheers

I woud love them! but posting them would be a f**king ball ache! When Alex (LL) tried to send me some they wanted £80!!!
-
Can take them to ultimate dubs if anyone your way is going
-
Why not get a black set and dye the leather cream/grey?
Much easier than either retrimming your current seats or waiting for ages for the right set to come up.
-
Only Mk3's go his way as the English Channel is quite wide!

The leather dyes only work if you are going from a light colour to a dark colour

Il be using the Furniture Clinic renovation kit in a couple of months, with a bit of effort and patience great results can be achieved.

Abit off topic but
reading that just reminded me of a bit from Dumb and Dumber when lloyd gets robbed by a sweet old lady on a motorised cart
Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel ,can still serve a purpose...

Hmmm, I'm really warming to this idea actually, great shout. Would be great if I could get a set of those ugly green or yellow colour concept recaros dirt cheap and then redo them in cream

I remember seeing you dying your mulberry seats black with this stuff how long did it take and is it a straight forward and as good quality as they make out on furniture clinic? I've done some research on it and it does look like good stuff but thought I better ask you as you've used it yourself  Did it go over the piping on the seats alright?
Also, what equiptment from this page do you need to complete the whole process
http://furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Dyes_Restoration.php
Is it just the colourant and finishing kit?
Cheers Lads

I got the medium kit out of this lot
http://furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Colourant_Kit.php#prices
The colour goes a very long way and i did 2 a full rear bench and 4 door cards. It covered everything really well.
I had to buy an extra bottle of the leather cleaner/solvent for removing the old dye but all the other stuff lasted really well.
The bottles of propellant for the airbrush however suck. They freeze up after a minute or 2 and it gets really tedious,so in the end i made up an adapter for the airbrush and hooked it up to the compressor at 40psi and it was 300% better!
It is a fairly time consuming job,but take your time, dont rush, mask off all areas you dont want dyeing as the dye stains anything.
You get 3 choices of finish and i went for satin as i didnt want a glossy unnatural look to the leather.
If you run into any problems gimme a shout but i found if i rang them with a query they were very helpful.

I would be doing two front seats, rear bench, and 4 door cards like you, but may also get parcel shelf covered in some real/fake leather and dye that aswell. How much colourant did you have left after you did yours? As I wouldn't mind having a bit spare in case any repairs needed dooing sometime in the future.

Stumbled across these beauties yesterday, and have become the inspiration for my interior:
More pics on the link: http://bombercountydubs.makeforum.co.uk/t250-full-recaro-show-winning-leather-interior-mk3-golf
Would love mine in that colour with blue piping and Recaro branding on the backrests
-
A few questions:
Are there any colour concept interiors that have head restaints on the rear bench?
Do all colour concept seats have "Colour Concept" embossed/pressed into the backrests?
Are the rear benches in colour concept interiors the same (with regards to shape/layout/stiching patterns blah blah) as the ones in say a standard gti? I only ask because if i'm uprating my interior, I want head restraints in the rear bench, but all of the colour concept rear benches don't seem to have them, although I do much prefere the shape of the front recaros that you get in the cc's. - So my plan would be to get two colour concept recaros up front and a standard bench with head restraints from a gti and then dye them cream.
Cheers for all the advice guys, much appreciated

I have 1/2 a bottle of dye left mate, thats using the medium size kit.It really goes a long way!
The adapter is easy to make up if your in engineering and have plenty of pipe fittings at work
Just give me a shout when you are about to do it and i will wang mine in the post.Just send it back when you have done.

Ahh sweet, that would really help, thanks... how big is this adaptor you made?
How do you recon a standard mk3 dash would take the leather dye? bearing in mind that it is like a leather effect finish... A matching cream dash would look the nuts
-
Cant comment on the dash colour change,i dont think it would take tbh but its worth a go.
The adapter is about 100mm long.Theres a pic of it in my build thread i think mate.
