Was talking with Jimp the other day, must be a few on here.
What do you play, what kind of music are you into?
If you're in a band, post up a link to some stuff and share it!
-
I'm a guitarist, got a Tokai 335, Epiphone LP studio and Fender MiM strat and Marshall AVT 150 combo amp.
Used to play in a punk band, was good, played all over the country and even got the guitarist from the band that was our biggest influence to manage us!
That ran its course though, now just started up an indie band with mates, done a few covers and starting to write our own sh!t.
When I play on my own I mostly just jam, coming up with riffs and licks, do a bit of bluesy stuff too.
-
Gear wise I've got: Fender Standard Telecaster, Ibanez RG550 (), 1986 Jap Fender P-Bass, Fender Deluxe '85, Ampeg Blue Diamond, Mapex Pro M, K Custom 14" Hats, Z Custom 22" ride, Meinl 18" crash, Bosphorous 18" crash, Yamaha FC electro acoustic.
Hopefully getting a Laney LC30 and an Ibanez AMF this weekend too.
I probably shouldn't talk about my pedals...
It's all been accumulated over 10 years.
-
Literally have finished paying of my Gibson LP which i adore!! also got a Teal Blue Gibson SG very limited finish, got a mexican fender strat as well as a couple of crappy accousitcs really want a nice Faith accoustic
Been playing for 10 years been in various bands for about 8 ranging from screamo to metalcore and now its more a mix of fast thrashy punk / hardcore / rock
Last year was the best year as i got to support Pennywise and then support Bad Religion at teh Britsol 02 Academy which was crazy!! also played with one of my fav bands A Wilhelm Scream Twice and also Death by Stereo last yr was crazy good for shows :)
Playing with Strung Out at the Croft in July and we are just finishing off a EP
here is some songs from the old EP
www.myspace.com/outofboundsbs3 (http://www.myspace.com/outofboundsbs3)

There are indeed, and Spunk Trumpet players...

What's up with it?

I play guitar and bass. Have an Ibanez RG505, 2 550's, 570, 770, US Custom, a 540P, Jem 7P, 7V, 2 77's, a 777, a JS a Gibson Les Paul, Ibanez SR700 bass, Washburn acoustic, two Boss 19" racks, various Boss and MXR pedals and three Marhsall valve stacks.

What's up with it?
I bought it along with a Jem7V when I was going through a glam rock phase.
It's the most ridiculous colour with a stupid mirrored rainbow pickguard.
I've had countless guitars but the only one I've always kept is the tele.
The plan with the AMF is to get a bare knuckle P90 in the bridge and a Fernandes sustainer and Seymour Duncan stacked single coil in the neck.
-
I play an ESP MH-50 :) Epic Guitar!
-
I'm a guitarist too, don't play often enough though:
My weapons of choice.

Just been to pick this up this evening:
All valve goodness.
Guitar needs a setup though. Badly.
Hopefully the AMF will be okay to play this weekend.
-
Yet another guitarist here. I own a few cheap acoustics which will be restored and modified one day. Also a Strat, Epiphone Les Paul Custom Flame Top and a Vintage Electro Acoustic. Plus a Line 6 of course  I'm not in a band atm, but have been wondering the streets of Brighton and Canterbury with people playing improv music. The look of amusement on peoples' faces makes my day lol.
-
Oof, really want a tele right now!
Blue with a Bigsby
Kinda (exactly) like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnYJMJ5Jmcw
-
I wanted to fit a bigsby to a thinline. SUSTAIN.
I can reccommend telecasters to anyone. I'd go for a 72 Deluxe if I were in the Market for a tele again.
I'm gonna drop mine off to get it set up tomorrow. Probably want some lighter strings too, seeing as I'm not playing in C any more.
-
I love bigsbys, got a trem arm on the strat, but it's just not the same.
Want me some savage vibrato!
Ernie Ball regulars FTW.
-
Had the lo-pro egde (Ibanez floyd rose) on the RG and the Jem.
Used to do all kinds of crazy Matthias IA Eklundh harmonics...
I love bigsbys though.
-
Thing I don't like about floyd roses and others that are similar is that theres too much movement, whereas with a bigsby you get about 1/2 inch either way to give the perfect tremolo sound :afro: :nerd:

It has been at some point in it's life. I'm mid strip at the moment. It's being done in sunburst with a black scratchplate and a fixed bridge.
-
I've been playing the drums since I was 3 years old (I'm 32 now) and also Im a signed electronic artist
Goin by the name of lightsource, you can find me on iTunes or can visit http://www.myspace.com/lightsourceelectronic and i also have a few music videos on YouTube.
-
Guitarist here! I love britpop and Indie
I have a couple of guitars
2010 Cherry red Epiphone Casino
2008 Tanglewood acoustic
2011 Epiphone hummingbird
2010 Admira Virtuoso classical
I love the hummingbird, its my day to day guitar and I take it to work with me! I set it up myself, first time ive attempted it and it came out really well.
-

One of mine is black, with black pickguard, maple fretboard and the other 550 is a LTD in pewter finish, mirrorish pickgaurd. I love my 550 more than my Jems to be honest, plays so well.
-
Went and played the AMF today. Seriously good guitar. Loads of value for money, will be a definite purchase.
-
I play bass when I can be arsed, just little blues licks and stuff. I have these...
And an old school HH amp which I love but is so mega rare that I cant find a pic of it
EDIT: THE ACOUSTIC BASS I HAVE IS 4 STRING NOT 5 BUT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THAT
-
Epiphone thunderbird is a quality bass.
I've been looking for an acoustic bass for a while now... Can't afford one at the moment though, my music budget and my car budget are severely creeping into my cost of living budget!
-
I'm not a musician in such that I play an instroment but I have been making music for about 10 years using various softwares and samplers. Done 2 albums worth of good stuff and loads of tunes other than them.
A couple of my tunes from a wile ago are here
www.myspace.com/musicalwizkid
-
I play bass, have a Fender Jazz S1 and a Richwood acoustic bass. The Jazz is just sweet to play, end of  Tone is properly nice and it's sunburst so it looks the part too :cool:The Richwood sounds like ass when plugged in but is fantastic for practising. For some reason it's just so easy to fly up and down the neck on it
I'll get some photos at some stage. When talking to Jack3559 I realised I have no photos of them :lipsrsealed:
-
I play bass, have a modified squire affinity p-bass with seymour duncan spb2's and an Ashdown mag c210t-300 evo II combo.
Saving up for vintage one-piece fender p-bass in sunburst, could be a long time
-
Can't recommend fender basses enough.
-
Can't recommend fender basses enough.
I've tried a few different basses yamaha/ibanez etc but never found one that feels as comfortable or balanced as my squier p-bass, just love playing it and it's one of the better quality lower end basses, just needs upgraded wiring and pickups to sound great and the natural progression is to a genuine fender.
-
Can't recommend fender basses enough.
My bassist just got a Fender MIM P bass off ebay.
He says he's in love with it!
-
One of my better guitars was an Olympic White squier standard strat. It was brilliant.
-
I was watching the david gilmour albert hall gig on sky a few weeks ago and the floyd bassist guy pratt was playing a gorgeous sunburst p-bass with tortoiseshell pickguard and maple neck, i'd give a lot to own that bass.
-
(http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/Jack3559/0349685f.jpg)
There's mine... 1986 Jap Fender P.
Coupled with a cranked AVT/blue diamond and a tube screamer... Nothing better.
-
Original tube screamers are worth a fortune.
-
dont use effect pedals myself, although i do wnat to get a 5150! only got a Valve King at the mo but does the job although my little VOX practice amp has soem pretty cool effects on it :)
-
Recorded an album aaaages ago on a 5150 with a 4x12 with a kick grille and it sounded amazing.
I've got a couple of tube screamers, usually I use both at the same time for more gain on the bass.
I'm gonna make a 2x12 kick grille cab to run under my lc30 for a bit more punch.
As for pedals, ts808 tube screamer, ts9 tube screamer, dd7 delay pedal, fender spring reverb pedal, ernie ball volume pedal and some old vibrato pedal I found in Denmark street for £15.
-
My current weapon of choice
LTD Dave Mustaine sig. DV8R SE
-
That's a nice picture of a lady...
-
I have three guitars but I'm thinking of trading them all in for that dave mustaine sig - they look cute.
-

Tend to be quite unreliable though... Temperamental should we say?
-
Aha clearly wasnt sending pics to my mate on FB from the Dub ladies thread 8-)

The only Sig Guitar I would want is this

Good old Tony.
I like the George Benson Ibanez Artcore and the Sting Tele bass...
But generally, I don't like signatures because I feel like people know who I'm trying to be.
I had a Mike Stern Pacifica about 6 years ago and whenever I played in France you could hear the front row talking about him- great guitar though.

I have:

A 1985 MIJ 3 colour sunburst strat with Fender locking trem.
A Yamaha apx-7 electro acoustic.
And my original post makes no sense now the picture of the girl has gone!

I take it you're a Vai fan?
And probably like top gun?
JCM900 combo is same as mine in the studio.

Vai is ok, I prefer Joe Satriani, I've got a JS1000 too actually.
I hate top gun, infact I hate anything american if I can, even if I have got a yank tank.
I love the Dual Reverb, superb amp, just superb!
What I need to do is get the rest of my guitars out and photograph them, I've got more that I can't even remember having. I went through a patch where 'I like that, I'll buy it' and now have about 17 guitars, some of which I have not seen for years as they're sat in their cases.
My top players are my RG550 and my Les Paul.
-
I'm a drummer and sound engineer.
Been playing drums for around 20 years. Up until recently I had a vintage Maxwin 4 piece jazz drum kit which I had restored myself.
I have a lovely Pearl Sensitone snare, Pearl P101P kick pedal, Sabian cymbals and an African wooden djembe.
I prefer Pearl and Gretsch drum kits.
As a sound engineer, I love the sound of a Fender Jazz or a Musicman Stingray bass and the most beautiful acoustic guitars I've heard have been Lowden http://www.georgelowden.com/ (http://www.georgelowden.com/)
-
Nice guitars Ant,
BTW thats not a JS its an early Radius - they are SICK. Ive got an old 440 R myself!
I've also got an as new UV77MC from 1990 - all in its original case with tags and original strings :)
DO like your Jem collection though! Never bought one as I always felt they lack feel but they do play INSANELY well - so easy! Would quite happily purchase that SK off you though :)
-

Cheers, I have got a JS, not got a photo of it on there. The one you say is an early radius is one of the roadstars. I'll see if I can post a photo of the 80s brochure for it.
-
Probably not a musician in you guys terms lol been producing electronic music for about 7 years, released quite a few singles/eps under various names, and worked with some popular big name djs over the years as well. Currently involved in a commercial project working closely with QFX [Scotland], also engineering and mastering a local hiphop artists material from Northern Ireland at the moment, as well as working on my own stuff :) some of my material:

Awesome! Pretty rare guitar there then! I've actually got the old Ibanez books (bought them all because im that sad lol!). Im not so into them as I use to be, always use to be about playing along with vai and satriani backing tracks but now just tend to play more normal stuff and put a hench solo in there when it allows haha. At the moment im after a brazilian PRS custom 22 or McCartney but finding one with a wide thin neck and a stop tail bridge in teal blue is a b!tch! ahaha
-
This past wk upgraded my Amp which im well chuffed with sold the Valve King and Now own a Peavy Tripple X
-
I just bought myself a Marshall DLS201, 20w valve amp. I've got a Marshall JCM2000 TSL 100w that's sitting around doing nothing, not sure if I should sell it or now.
