Post by: busterdub on 23 May 2011, 11:16

I guess you mean climate control panel, are you aware that it is major work to get that working and more than the panel is needed.

Tbh they don't make that much difference on their own and ive run two mk3's with and two without but every little helps I guess. My current valver came with one fitted and coupled with the under engine cover i must admit it does dampen the engine levels down a fraction but it's certainly not dramatic.

I know a lot of people just bin the underbonnet sound proofing as it can make underbonnet temps a lot higher

LOL, I've stacked that car up with more parts than I care to remember! CC Recaro inteior, anni gearknob, lower glovebox, fischer cd holder, Morettes (en route), black ABC trims (en route), Momo wheel, coils, exhaust...the list goes on HECKBLENDE! Aha, the point being? Well, my *next* mk3 is gonna be silver or white - and all that shizz is going right on it. So maybe the ol' blende will suit that one better heh.

Love it.

Some things listed in this thread are very rare in the US but just uncommon in the EU. Like the anni bits and pieces. Plenty of them around the EU but I don't think the US ever got the anni model so any anni parts have to be imported.

Cars not an import. R reg GTI 8v from Wayside VW new in 1998.

Admittedly the light only works now and again but its there.

Maybe the previous owner fitted it as I have a few OEM extras on my car and tasteful mods life boot struts fitted to lift bonnet etc.

I believe them tweeters are part of the nokia sound system, fitted as an option in germany and not sold in the UK

vw sold many special edition models throughout various markets like the uk ad the rolling stone for example (thanks to vw uk sponsering the rolling stones uk tour). The Uk also got the anniversary of 750 units, germany got it's own 20jahre model of 1000 units.
there is a full list on dopple-wobber.de (I think thats the site?) which shows the unique spec fitted to the ltd ed's

so i have sourced a few parts like climbtronic,

No! lol

I guess you mean climate control panel, are you aware that it is major work to get that working and more than the panel is needed.

yes mate, i have got everything the vents, the heater box with a new matrix...................and yeah tell me about the work involved!! haha but it will make it a tad more special as i am planning to keep the car for a long time as a weekend car so i know it will take a while so not in a rush

It will be a complete ballache to get it in and working, the dash has to come out etc, is it really worth it.  :undecided:

Cheers for that site (its actually: http://www.doppel-wobber.de/) its always great browsing german sites looking for unusual parts - and they often sell them cheap to :D

I don't need them for their functionality :P They just look cool
