Is there a leak from the radiator in that picture? Maybe that's why it's at the dealers to be fixed?

Seriously, the new Vauxhalls look quite smart. I like the styling direction they are going with their cars. The Corsa's look really good compared to the new Fiesta.

tbh he was probly laughing at your overpriced overweight golf :wink:

couple of facts;

an astra vxr is more powerful than a new gti and is lighter, also better looking.

as for the new R the focus rs is quicker, lighter and better looking.

all in all the new golfs are over priced and boring.

please dont confuse these facts with me defending vxr's as i own one or that im jeaolous of the new golfs as this is not the case, I am mearly stating motoring facts that MANY snobs(particularly on this site) overlook and it annoys me

Everything you just said there is wrong.

As I said earlier in the thread I quite like the VXRs but them along with the quite frankly shocking body kit on the RS all have 0 class. You can keep your torque and under steer thanks. Ill take the Golf all day long.

Nothing do with snobbery. I have owned the cars mentioned?? Have you??

The R32 would murder a VXR around a track. The only chance a VXR would have is on a straight... usually straight into a hedge.

My GTI has had many VXR's nailed. None more so when it comes round abouts... you can physically see then bouncing about like a hooker on a pogo stick.

As for your FACTS... the golf maybe over priced but they hold their value better and out sell the Vauxhalls by a considerable margin.

Once a cheapskate always a cheapskate... If you want to look stupid in your vauxhall, take a break from it when you are on the net. as you were fella :wink:

Oh no you didn't... have you seen cars race on a track and on the street?

A Ford RS and VXR both mapped could not keep up with a Leon Cupra R mk2 remapped (or s3, same sh!t under the bonnet)... The RS is over rated and the figures ford claim have been "slightly" off.

The RS and the VXR struggles against a stock Leon Cupra R...

I don't know where you get your figures from or your claims but they are a bit far fetched...

It's the nonsense that people come out with. If a car is faster I will admit to it, hell I even own a slow mk4 1.8T, its not just about bhp, take torque into account and how the power is delivered and distributed, so you cannot just rely on what Mr. Sales man has told you about how awesome the VXR is. The VXR is by no means fun or fast from my experience (it is fast but not in comparison to other cars on the market).

Just wish I had recordings at what a VXR did to my mk4 and what a mk2 Leon Cupra R did to my golf in terms off getting away in the tunnel at QE2, both remapped and then what the 2.0T Cupra did to the VXR :evil:

This can go on all day, go outside, find a 2.0T S3 or Cupra and watch how it will embarrass the VXR... as you seem not to believe it for some strange reason... I've been surprised by what some cars can do, like a banged up corsa with a red top engine, but plain figures mean nothing like what you quoted.

I'm comparing the later 2.0T TSI/TFSI engines, the one on the Cupra R and S3 that push 260bhp stock, and the Cupra R is £19k same as the VXR I believe with more bang for the buck by a mile.

I believe you said the VXR is faster and lighter, given its horse power advantage .7 isn't faster its basically the same and a mk6 will improve on that time again, again with less power than the VXR.

If you want to hang on to .7 of a second to back up your comment. Of course a better man would concede his point and gain a lot more respect from it.

I think you will also find the fatty R32 will be showing your VXR a clean pair of heels... anything other than perfectly dry road and you can add another 5secs or so to that time, lighter, more powerful, faster VXR :laugh:
