as per title. anyone had this??
driving at full throttle and noticed it came on and flashed slowly for a good 10-15 seconds, then ran out of road :undecided:
-
I didn't know it had a starter motor light are you talking about the MIL light (engine icon)?
-
Im not sure either which one your on about. Alternator or traction control one maybe ?
-
looks like an engine, lights up yellow, and is located somewhere near the middle of the speedo (or just to the right of it). excuse my lack of technical info.... bit hard at full throttle :lipsrsealed:
-
I'll go look at the manual. I think thats the traction control light. I have had mine flashing

definately not the traction light. the traction light is within the rev counter. I am VERY familiar with the traction light

The manual says

Page 273 says next to the picture Decrease speed. Drive carefully to the next qualified workshop. Have the engine checked.

no. the raised part you are looking at fades into the bumper. it just seems to be catching the light slightly

oil light hasnt been on again.. just the yellow light just near the 8 on the rev counter. something to do with exhaust management, which can effect the catalyst/coilpack and misfire.
its going in tomorrow anyway.. so let me what they make up say

Hey R32UK -
what happened in the end when you took it to the garage?
Mine just came up and I wasn't going crazy at the time when the light came on and in general a very civilised GTI owner!
Definitely worried me - did you have to leave the car at the garage for a long time?
