Lovely job but WOW 99.95 :shocked:for a tub of wax seems extreme. I mean how much are they charging for the hardwood case the wax is in ?. How many times can you wax your car for that kind of money.
I have treaded in my Outlander for a GTI which I am still waiting on. On the outlander I used a product called 'Glare' and then finished it off with a coat of 'Collite' wax with great results for a fraction of the cost. I'm going to buy a Meguiars G220 dual polisher as the years are getting on and I don't have the same energy levels.
See if you can talk me into trying this wax what improvements would I see over my own car which develops a wet look for a fraction of the cost.

eh? who said anything about purple haze pro costing a ton?
try waxamomo - http://www.waxamomo.co.uk/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=308&idcategory=37 (http://www.waxamomo.co.uk/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=308&idcategory=37)
£42.95 is a bit of a bargain for that!
in case you are thinking of supernatural in a wood panel pot... it is only £80 http://www.waxamomo.co.uk/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=180&idcategory=37 (http://www.waxamomo.co.uk/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=180&idcategory=37) and the pot is refillable... however supernatural isn't that super imo
if you want to look at decent wax prices then try swissvax  paul dalton's crystal rock is only £550 which is a veritable bargain compared to 'divine' which is a snip @ £1600 :afro:
-
you dont NEED to buy the 1 in the wooden tub tho, i've went for the standard purple haze at £31 or so
any 1 tell me what the main difference is on the pro version, noticed its an extra £10, is it harder to apply or???

which wooden tub are we talking about here... can someone provide a link please?
it contains more carnauba and more of the sealant element that red mist has in it - lasts longer so essentially less work and better shine and durability
-
the wooden tub he's on about is supernatural,
yes collinite is cheaper but the gloss it gives doesnt even compare to dodo wax's, i use both

thats what i thought... this thread isn't even about supernatural so why are people rattling on about it?
colli = protection
dodo = shiny bits
-
 & thanks for clearing up the difference on the pro version. i will make do with the standard stuff & maybe try the pro next time

Guy, I am not a detailer just a someone who likes his car to look good so forgive me if I don't know the p's and q's in the detailing world.
I googled Dodo and the first one that came up was the 95.95 one. However thanks to you I now see there is a cheaper tub from your link. I have taken a note of it and will order it for when the GTI will arrive as it is Pearl Black and I understand the Purple haze is good for black.
Would you keep me right here. I was going to put a couple of coats of Glare on first as I have a couple of bottles to use up.. Then finish off with the Purple haze.
Thanks for any info as it will be appreciated

It may sound alot but i did not even make a dent in the tub doing the whole car so a tub should last years,go`s on easy comes off easy and smells nice to

like most manufactures they have more than one product... they have base products all the way up to the expensive shizzle for the mk6 boys and girls...
what Glare products do you have to use up... in the same vein as Dodo they do quite a few! http://glareuk.com/shop/index.php?route=common/home (http://glareuk.com/shop/index.php?route=common/home)

First thanks for any help.
I maybe wrong here but I think I would put the Purple Haze Dodo on first as it's a wax then put on the Glare as it's a sealant on top ?

you were right the first time.. remember you have a polish/sealant there so the polishing particles will work on whatever they are being applied to... do they tell you to use more than one coat? if not then you might be wasting your time?
i would apply
glare (according to manf instructions)
1 x dodo PH Pro
1 x dodo PH Pro 24 hours later

I have lots of little white flies stuck to the roof of my car,i washed it yesterday because of the white flies on the roof and bugger me they are back this morning, they are stuck to the roof. Are they attracted to something in the Dodo juice ? if not they must be sky diving onto my car roof because they are stuck fast ,there are none on my green touran parked next to the golf. :undecided:
-
This isnt the first time I've read about people using a product and some kind of insect or other being attracted to it, I dont know if its bad luck or if insects realy are attracted by some of the products we use :undecided:
I'm using normal Purple haze atm and I was planning to replace it with Colli 476 but after seeing those pics I'm very very tempted by the PH pro, cracking finish on a cracking car

do it mate you wont regret it!!! i layered mine yesterday with BV pro then PH pro on top and its extremely glossy, ive used my PH pro panel pot 4 times now and theres easily another 4 layers left it, ive just got a large pot of a guy on DW so im happy as larry.
-
Dont encourage me
I've not even used my purple haze panel pot yet but you've given me an idea so I might get a PH pro panel pot.
How does the PH differ from BV ? (Obviously I know ones hard and ones soft but I've only used the soft waxes so far :undecided:)
-
yes mate the pro panel pots are well worth the money tbh and will last you quite a while, bv pro is lovely to apply and smells of spiced apples though feels a bit oilier in application than the standard bv but a little goes a long long way and the curing time is very similar to supernatural strangely and benefits from a second buffing after removal, the finish is really glossy and wet. im hooked dude
regarding your post on page 4 id suggest putting 476 down first as your base layer then cap off with ph or ph pro  you'll love the finish trust me
when i had my golf gti i did the above but with collinite 845 then ph over the top  looked awesome, durabilty of colli and the bling from the juice
-
Thanks for that, at the momment I'm using SRP which is topped off by AG EGP so I think I'll just go over the top with the Dodo juice (obviously that's if I do decide to by some )
-
DO IT!!!!!

-
So is it okay to apply two layers of wax from different makes?
-
yes its ok!!! just keep an eye on things if the wax is more synthetic in its make-up ie colli 845,476,fk1000p etc etc because i find they mute the flick in the paint a bit and give a more glassy look to the finish which dont get me wrong is still good but i prefure the warmth and glossy wet finish of a hardcore carnauba wax ie dodojuice waxs
-
I'm using 915 at the moment and will be for quite some time but would love a wet finish to the paint. So Purple Haze would do this? I'm confused by all the types.
-
915 is cool dude it should be giving you a nice glossy finish!!! take no notice of the colours as they mean nothing regarding what finish you'll get, soft waxes will give a wetter slicker finish than hard waxes as they have more natural oils in them to soften them and make them easier to spread on the car, purple haze is perfect for your car dude, go get some you'll love it
-
Thanks for the asvcr bud :afro: When I can free up some cash I'll make the purchase, I love the slick wet look that some waxes offer so I'll lay the 915 down first for durabilty, then Purple Haze for the finish. Sweet!
-
no probs mate!! once you've put purple haze on your car you will be hooked trust me
-
Panel Pots. Enough to do a full car? Just want to try it before hand :)
-
a panel pot of dodojuice will be enough to do your car upto 6 to 8 times if applyed properly
-
Yep, should easy get 4-6 layers, 6-8 if your very careful.
