Mk6 Mdi lead issue
« on: 04 July 2022, 10:26 »
Hi
I have a 2010 mk6 with the rns310 DAB hi and Dynaudio
The car came with the Mdi box in the armrest but the lead has fallen apart.
Can I use any lead or does it have to be the same one as the one I have seems quite rare and expensive.
It’s the green collared lightning cable.

Cheers

2010 Mk6 3Dr, Blue graphite, 18” Monzas, rns310 Dab with Dynaudio, standard apart from Stainless exhaust. Called Miley cos it’s done a lot of miles!!

Bit of an update

Sourced a second hand replacement with green sleeve and identical model number and tried it today, it charges the iPhone 11 I have but says Device not recognised!

Any suggestions?

It’s a 2010 GTI with the 310 head unit I think and it’s got Dynaudio of that makes a difference

Cheers.

I think there was a problem of compatibility with the mk6 mdi until 2012. Would charge but not play.
Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.

Right, didn’t know that. Apparently the guy I got the car off used it for his music but then again he said it worked and later I found out the connector wasn’t even attached to the wire!! Hmm!!
