Hi,

I've also got a Black GTI - A quick question, if I may: How have you got a 'metallic' look to the bottom of your rear bumper/valence? have you had it re-sprayed or is it a new part?

Its an edition 30 valance, sprayed and blended, as well as the skirts and front splitter

Great photos ... car looks better than it left the showroom

That's a very "wet look" finish you've got on the paintwork ... what wax / LSP do you use ?

Thanks.  I machine polished it with menzerna polishes over 2 years ago to get a swirl free finish, since then I've just been looking after it with lots of products.  The nicest finish IMO is from pinnacle sovereign wax (about £40) but it only lasts a few weeks and is no use in the winter.  Its actually wearing a cheap all in one product in meguiars NXT tech wax 2.0 which is one of my favourite products.  Its a cleaner, glaze and sealent and leaves a lovely glossy finish.  Add to that the fact it was applied 8 weeks ago and didnt need anything yesterday and I'm very very pleased

Your car looks superb, mine is a black 3 dr too and thats what i am looking to get too in the next few weeks, are your wheels OEM or reps ??, my car came with 17's and i'm looking at reps to replace..

They are oem mate.  I've always looked after them but at 3 years they were showing signs of white worm on the very edges but i was lucky enough that vw replaced them all for me so they are brand new

Thanks, think I'll give that a try then   :nerd:

The liquid wax mate.  Make sure you give it plenty of time to dry, especially in this weather!!!! Its then much easier to remove
