As Sean said, these are much better. This chip is not the original map "fooled", it's a completely new map, with changes in ignition advance and fuelling. Rubjonny tested this exact chip back to back on a dyno and saw a 6hp peak increase and bigger increases throughout the rev range.

Today I stuck the new ARB links on. The old ones were very very shagged. While doing the job, I noticed that the ARB was further to the passenger side (side that's been rubbing somewhere), so it may have been the problem all along. Anyway I evened out the ARB, tightened the new links on and got on with inspecting the suspected exhaust blowing.

Indeed it was blowing at both ends of the centre silencer pipe, so plenty of exhaust paste on that and it's fixed it

Gave the inside a nice vacuuming too as the dog is currently malting

Also bad news for me is, the owner of the driveway next to my house (2 car driveway owned by a security shot next door) is a cvnt and parked up next to me in his posh merc and said next time I park there I'll be clamped, because it's his property. Completely agree it's his property but there are nicer ways to say things and also I've never done anything bad to the driveway, in fact I often sweep it so if anything it's a benefit I use it for a few hours on Sundays (when no one from next door is parked there).

Fcuk the bastard, I may "accidentally" spill some paint on his merc one day or "accidentally" drop a nail while walking on the pavement behind his car

So I'm bummed out that I won't be able to do much car work any more, it's the only thing I look forward to in the week

ARB links were deffo needed big time! Car feels much better at the front end, so much better infact that now I need an upgraded roll bar as the standard isn't quite good enough (need a rear too).

Chip is the best addition to my car so far. Not only has it improved power and driveability but the MPG I'm getting is awesome! I just got back from Bournemouth, and the drive home wasn't exactly...Slow, but the car returned 36mpg! Usually on the same journey at the same pace it'd do about 30mpg

Not nice on the driveway front, is it a big drive?

Interesting on the power chips, actually making a difference then?

Where all my moneys went.

This is the driveway, picture taken from the other side.

Where my car is parked on the bosses place. I was thinking I could install a railing along the side of my house (the one at the back of the picture next to the car). That railing would be about where the brick half meets the white half, and it could contain a bird feeder. That way when the tw@t parks his posh merc there it'll get shat all over

And yeah the chip really did make a nice difference. 16v CGTI RR day on the 24th of April in London so will found out the current power then

Although Ess_three ahs told me toyotec's RR is known as the heartbreaker

Its not perfect. Had to do 2 plaits at the front to get it down properly and around grab handles it's a bit creased up, but its good enough. Next up is painting bits and bobs in black.
