You can collect it when you get the other items you've left lying about in the barn.

eBay!

Some updates.

New engine speed sensor fitted. To make it an easy job I pretty much dismantled the front of the car and took the front engine mount bracket off so there was no messing about with weird angles or anything.

Then I debadged the rear

My friend Steve who recently passed away was always telling me to debadge it, so in his honour I have done, and I'm happy I have. Looks much much better.

Haven't updated in a while but not much has gone on. Window regulator had broken on the way back from Spain (thankfully in mild UK rather than in hot France/Spain). So changed that after waiting for about 3 bloody weeks for the parcel to turn up! Royal mail REALLY took the pi$$ there. Anyway now working all fine  While I was at it I decided to check the usual bits and bobs, fluids, tyre pressures and any major visible bits, so adjusted the pressures for the first time since Spain  All uneven, and front right was 14psi so that needs refitting I think, as it has a slow leak.

As I've mentioned in the Mk3 section I've got an oil leak which I've found to be an O-ring on the oil cooler, so need to pick a new one up from VW in the coming days along with some oil and a new filter to sort it out.

MOT in November, but as I'll be away then I plan on doing it before I leave (halloween) so I'm starting to get the car ready for MOT now. New powerflex rear beam bushes should be here either tomorrow or Monday, so I'll get cracking with them. After that it's the brakes that need a major makeover. ABS system at the front needs rewiring, and a new sensor I have in the shed put in place. I've got 288mm brakes from the 16v donor sitting pretty that need putting on, but I need to buy new brake hoses for them as they are of different fitment, so I'll be buying some braided hoses as a nice upgrade (brake system I do NOT like to do, especially the nut attaching the flexi hose to the solid hose, it's rusted and I REALLY don't want to round it off, so need to get a decent brake hose spanner and plenty of penetrating oil on it beforehand).

Need to fit a new sunroof at some point, as one of the rails on my one has broken so it's been unusable for month now, I miss it  Need to sort out the exhaust banging on the rear axle, I'll do that when doing the polybushes.
To top it all off I shall be applying a load of waxoil underneath to get it ready for the winter, along with new spark plugs.

Ta mate, should stay sunny. Managed to get the bush casings off, so I've given it a lick of paint and I'll be refitting it tomorrow
