Down 6hp apparently

However I'm not sure about this. A hell of a lot of cars seemed to drop power as opposed to runs at the same dyno weeks ago/last month. I'm convinced there was something wrong with the calibration this time round. I can feel when an improvement of 1 or 2hp happens and I certainly can't feel a 6hp loss. Graph is identical to last month's 165hp run, just notched down at 158hp so I'm not sure....

However since I have repositioned the cold air intakes for better airflow.

Didn't you mention blue smoke though?

Oily plug without sounding pedantic, definitely not the cam cover gasket?

Where all my moneys went.

It's the oil seals or the valve guides, which is good news as it's not piston rings as I was fearing. No blue smoke, about 400ml of oil used every 5-6k miles, however cylinder 3 has a wet plug and looking down the plug hole the crown looks wet, so it's not cam cover gasket.

Here's a comparison between the 159hp and the 165hp run.

Identical path, just lower numbers, hence why I suspect it's calibration related.

Ah okay. I think your idea of getting a head all sorted first then swapping is the best idea IMO.

Still not cheap with new belts and gaskets though!

Nope, looking at about £60 for headgasket set, £20 for bolts and then the head on top of that, as well as skimming if it's needed.

Your previous test was on a low pressure day and your recent test was on a high pressure day.

Although the high presure should be better for the engine, the dyno will correct for the high pressure and reduce your figures.

It is a correction like this that may explain the difference.

Other things would be to compare the AFR plots from the two days if you got those printouts aswell.  NVM if you didn't as not everywhere gives those out as standard.

Here's the AFR. Fainter line is the 165hp run.

Figures at the bottom are from 158hp run, here's the 165hp run's figures.

I think I've found out the reason why I may be down on power.....

Intermediate pipe rusted and has broken off the decat pipe! Jesus christ it's loud, embarrassingly loud. Had to drive down the high street with a polity "sorry" grin on my face. I think It's heard within 10 miles  :embarrassed:

Going to go for a new system, ofcourse. Another spenditure I wasn't looking forward to!
