not sure about these rims
« on: 09 December 2008, 20:10 »
Bout some cheap alloys off ebay the other day, they were advertised as MK1 Golf alloys, so i assumed they would fit.  I collected them last night and the wheel details are as follows:

1984 4k fwd Ronals:      4x100   6Jx14 H2 ET45   811601025P

ET seems abit high for my liking, before i go to the effort of balancing them up and getting over to the barn to fit them, do you think these are going to fit without spacers?

cheers

This is the sizes of the factory wheels that VW offered...Maths says maybe need up to a 10mm spacer.

This calculator is pretty helpful.

cheers.  Thats darn right inconvinient, the chap who had them said he had them fitted straight on his mk1 golf  Turns 4 cheap alloys into 4 not so cheap alloys when you have to buy 4 spacers. Never mind

doesnt mean they wont fit, just they'll be a bit lost in the arches is all.  Check the centre bore on them fits your wheels snug though, wheels of that offset are usually vauxhaull fitment...

et45 is or tend to be Vaxhall fit, try one on the car and see how it sits in the arch.

Hi all

Have done some research, they are ronal wheels are where an original fit on mk1 audi coupes.  As for fitment, they go over the hubs and bolt on ok, but when you full it on full lock they just touch the anti-roll bar  I think 5mm spacers will solve the problem but not sure its worth it.  May just bang em back on ebay.  Is ashame really they have been refurbed and have 4 brand new tyres!

cheers

Just bought some 5mm spacers off ebay, £10 for all 4.  Just gotta get some wheel bolts now, ive got a right mis-match in there at the moment, there long enough but most have the incorrect taper which is hardly ideal... have got a post up in the wanted section for these if anyone has any

cheers
