Frustrating - and i feel really sad for this lad, but serves as a timely reminder to all of us - eh?

Modern cars are not so easy to nick without keys - on the other hand I'd rather hand over my keys under duress than end up as a sad statistic on the BBC as another posthumous 'have-a-go' hero?

It's a bastard world at times. (I actually typed b*stard there :) )

Cant see him ever getting the car back to be honest, will be stripped down or sold on to do a job in by now.

Such a shame, dont see what people are thinking when they jump into someones car..what gives them the right...thing is the law will just give him a light sentence and a slap on the wrist if they ever do catch him.

Maybe move this to the General VW related chat??

The more people that are aware of the situation...the better! :)

I doubt it, he's taken it as the opportunity arose and he's a slaggy thief, I imagine he took it for a joyride and now has a pricey motor in his garage and doesn't know where to sell it on to.

Agreed - if he was a pro he wouldn't have had his mug caught on CCTV.

I AM THE GUY WHO HAD HIS 2007 GTI EDITION 30 STOLEN , FIRSTLY I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THERE SUPPORT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN GREAT AND I TRULEY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT.

SECONDLY I WOULD LIKE TO CLARIFY A FEW POINTS, I HAVE A CAR SALES GARAGE WHICH IS LOCATED AT THE PETROL STATION WHERE MY CAR WAS STOLEN FROM. THERE IS A CAR WASH AT THE OTHER END OF THE GARAGE, MY MISS'S HAD BEEN OUT SHOPPING THAT MORNING, ON HER WAY HOME SHE DECIDED TO GET THE CAR CLEANED, THE KEYS WHERE GIVEN TO THE CAR WASH GARAGE, MY MISS'S THEN WALKED OVER TO MY SITE TO SEE ME, UNFORTUNATLEY I WAS NOT THERE, WHILST THEY WHERE CLEANING THE CAR, OR SHOULD I SAY LEATHERING IT DOWN, THE THIEF JUMPED INTO THE CAR AND DROVE OFF.

THE CAR WASH HAVE INSURANCE AND OUR CLAIM IS GOING THROUGH NOW.
THE REASON I WILL NOT STOP UNTILL I FIND THIS GUY AND HE HAS BEEN ARRESTED, IS BECAUSE HOW MANY OTHER CARS WILL HE STEAL, WHY SHOULD THEY GET AWAY WITH IT WHILST HARD WORKING PEOPLE STICK IT OUT AND WORK THROUGH THE GOOD AND BAD TIMES, IF WE SIT BACK AND DO NOTHING THINGS WILL ONLY GET WORSE AND AS IF WE NEED THEM WORSE THAN WHAT IT IS TODAY.

ANYWAY THATS JUST MY VIEW AND I WILL NEVER EVER JUST SIT BACK AND TAKE IT, NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TOO.

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOUTO ALL THAT HAVE GIVEN ME THERE SUPPORT IT IS TRUELY APPRECIATED.

ALEX

Just browsing through ebay and found this - if we can all be vigilant and keep an eye out - I certainly will,

Poor guy, I admire his determination.
