squeaking breaks

Even before the weather started to get dam my breaks have started to squeak at low speed breaking.

Not had chance to book into VW yet, but has anyone else had this, and how did you sort it?

If it's not down to worn pads then do a few rapld 70mph to almost standstill without completely stopping.
That should deglaze your pads.

I think there was a thread here a whiles back.

Basically, they will tend to do this. Most people notice it in stop-start traffic. I notice it first thing in the morning as I'm eeking out of the garage and around the block of flats and onto the main road.

I don't think it will be to do with worn pads as the car has only done 5k

i will try some heavy breaking and see if that helps. The odd thing is tho it after a long trip it still does it.

Guess i will have to book it in to the dealers if the heavy breaking does not work

you might have a stone stuck inbetween the disc and the splash gaurd at the back as i have had this happen twice now  just gave them a prod it stones have fallen out

i get this alot, and i sorted it out myself, in my case it was the brakes squeaking along the caliper, a quick brush down and add some copper grease oil and its sorted removing any dust and dirt.

I'm on my 3rd Golf  (2 Gti's and now an R32), and all have suffered the same squeaky brakes at low speed 

Particularly noticeable on down ramps in mult-storey car parks when coming to stop.

I also had this when I first got the car. After about 2 months it just stopped . . . .

Mines just started doing it now after 4700 miles..Annoying.
