New to VW, new to the site
« on: 04 December 2008, 06:14 »
Morning folks, the nickname's Ed, chunky 33yo lad who lives in Essex and spends a fair chunk of time in Stoke on Trent.  Always liked Golfs, but I have always had Fords and more recently Jap cars.  After getting my fingers burnt on my last one, this reasonably clean almost standard Dragon Green 8v mk3 came up at my work:

It was from all appearances well looked after, I knew its basic history and it was the right price so I decided to sale on in and buy it.... Promised myself and the current gf that I would leave it alone, but I lied.  So I am already looking at what I can do to it....

Oh and this is me:

Welcome, its quite tryicky to get any real power gains out of the 2.0 8v engine :( haed over to the mk3 section. Plenty of cosmetic mods that can be done then.

Welcome to the site!

Thanks for that.  Not too worried about big gains on power right now, been there done that and had the huge garage bills associated with it.  Looks on the other hand I will want to improve.

Cant even find the fuse box on it yet though!  Will have to have a good poke around of it this weekend, my only issue appears to be that none of my fog lights work.  Will be heading over to Volksmine to have a poke around too :)
