my baby (16v turbo)
« on: 03 December 2008, 21:40 »
thought i'd just start posting some pics of my valver. i bought this from the original owner. i did silly little bits and pieces to it only cosmetic, then a trip to santa pod playing with my mates all the way there in their skylines and them saying it was bloody quick and couldn't keep up with me on initial acceleration got me thinking a bit. Then one of them decided to twin turbo his so i decided to look into what i could do to mine. keeping it simple just didn't work, my mate that was lodging with me at the time is a clever git and really started reading up. basically we ended up making our own injection system fitting a 20v turbo to it(with a nifty little adaptor plate) lowering the compression and wiring in a dta ecu. quite a few other mods but don't wanna bore you to much

So that's a 16VT with a dyno graph showing 176bhp and 159lb ft?

Was the graph from before the turbo was fitted?
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

must be 176 BHP at the wheels, not at the flywheel which sounds pretty healthy for a 16vt.

my best time at pod was crap. admitedly it was my 1st time but thats no excuse. for some reason my boost dropped  to around 9 psi from 14 psi on the strip, the only thing i put it down to was the heat because on the way there it was fine and as soon as we left it was fine, i've never done any thing with the cooling system though, it's still standard. so edxcuses out the way my best time was 15.7, i'll try and find my slips i'm sure i kept them. the dyno graph was the finished artichle with that power. which my mate is starting a new job travelling aroun with a mobile 2 wheel drive dyno set up!!!!! so hopefuy the graph will be looking a lot better. i need to put bigger injectors in it at some point because theyt weren't far off maxed out.

Nice motor mate. My MG ZR Turbo was fun at santa pod done a 13.1 on knackered tyres. They was so fooked when I woke up the next day noticed I had 2 flat tyres and they had worn through to the metal beading.
