160mph clocks into 120mph
« on: 02 December 2008, 22:35 »
Evening all, just wanted to clarify that if i swapped the 160mph clocks into my 120mph 8v that it would still work fine with the current speedo cable.
From what I have read the 120 and 160 both use the red speedo drive. Does this mean that the 160 clocks will go in and automatically be correctly calibrated?

The 120 and 160 clocks use the same cable/drive, the 140 clocks use a different one.

just watch ur speed in 30mph areas with speed cameras - the old 30mph position is now 40mph on the dial, nearly got me in trouble!

i think what he meant was where 30 was on the old clocks, is now 40.  so if you dont pay attention you'll be driving at 40 when you think yoiu're at 30, its hard to explain but I noticed the same on mine after putting 16v clocks in.
