What do you WANT? dont listen to your HEAD go with your HEART, ultimately if you save £2 on petrol per week will you give a flying FXXX if everytime you look at an R32 and wonder.......what if, perhaps I should have just gone for it

I want an R32, also considering an older 996....

Oops.. sorry, my fault.  Didn't think about the topic of the thread  :embarassed:  Still, I'd rather have a VW Golf GTI/R32 over an S3 anyday even if they are faster or whatever... As for BMW, I think they lost the plot with the new models after 2000.  I'm a VW Whore      The ONLY car that has got me tempted to buy outside VW is the Nissan GT-R which I want to put a deposit down for... only problem is I keep spending too much on VW's

So no one feeling the Z4M???

Surely a 45k car for 24k only 1 year only 20k on the clock has got to be the steal of the century!!

3.2 straight six.... with just a measly 343bhp

I think I know what Im getting next :undecided:

Yes and No.

I think im still too young for something like that. Id rather spend 20k on an S3 and 4k doing it up.

Your absolutely right mate....the R32 would be a decision based on the heart really.   I use a car so much, it has to excite me even standing still or when I open my front door in the morning it has to make me smile.  My TT did, until got in it!  My MkV is just the best for all reasons.

Gonna hold out till Jan I think and see what is out there....

Hey Clubs....I looked at 2001 & 2002 996 models (both pre & post facelift) and have to say...drive one.  I borrowed a friends 996 CS2 and thought it looked absolutely fantastic but drove like a 10yr old car.  Was really disappointed.   But it was totally orgasmic to look at....realy head turner and sounded fantastic.  Just felt sloppy to drive...gear box was awful too (and the clutch)

Also, they had some real issues with RMS and other engine probs.  So worth getting one with full history etc.  Porsche will allow you to purchase warrenty for 996 (and other models) up to 8 year olds providing you get them checked over.  Check out the 911uk forum.

May have a relatively free weekend now, so could pop to the dealers and see what stock they have.

Thanks all for giving other suggestions...thats what I wanted. So thanks GTIJames..

Needs to be practical, so Z4M is out....that one is gorgeous though!
