My mk2 currently has big bumpers with small-bumper arches, skirts, and doortrims.   However, I saw a photo a couple of days ago (can't find it for the life of me now ) of a mk2 with small bumpers, and big-bumper arches, skirts, and doortrims.

I thought this looked wicked, so I may well be awkward enough to do it do my car.  I have a few queries about it tho:

1.  The mk2 had a large 16v front splitter on.  To get the big-bumper arches to match up with the splitter, is it purely cutting of the arches which is involved, or is sticking required too?

2.  Do all the arches, skirts and doortrims plug straight in, or do new holes have to be drilled anywhere?

3.  Would a rear small bumper fit on the front?  I know it may not reach back to the arches, but it would be a lot less effort than smoothing indicators and number-plate recess

1. cutting and a bit of jiggery will be required, a nut/bolt might be an idea on the outer edge.
2. straight fit, the sill trims need sticky pads and a screw at either end
3. not a straight fit, but anything is possible with time & effort. may be easier to plastic weld the holes shut really!

 Thanks rubjonny, excellent reply as always!  I was expecting someone to say "don't put a rear bumper on the front, you won't have any indicators"

Thats such a good idea!

Might need the iron brackets from a front bumper screwed onto the rear bumper but would be good to see how it works
