how do u disable the airbags??

i have jus bought a mark4 gti golf love her loads...but i have a 18mth old boy&i was wondering how u wud turn off the air bags in the recaro seats as im told it wud badly hurt him if they went off..in my 2o6gti thers a switch that u can turn off with the key but i cant see anything like that please help..lol

you on about disabling the side airbags?? 

2 ways -

1) remove the connector under the seat but this will bring up a warning light on the dash

2) take it to the dealer and get them to de-activate it along with the passenger airbag or get someone local to you with VAG COM to do it

in other cars you can turn it off manually

Im pretty sure that vagcom has the option to diable the light if you pull the plug out.
