I got my plaque today very happy thought i would have a lower number though for a march 07 car.

Without reading through all the million posts from before. Who can I contact @ VW to get mine guys? The car is leased remember, so don't know what difference that will make..

Ring the number that Phil has posted (the one that scrolls across the screen) with your chassis number. 

I've not had a letter or phoned yet, but will do on Monday if it doesn't come then now that people are starting to receive them.

Just to confirm, the plaque is supposed to go on the drivers side

I've just phoned customer services....not received a letter but thought I'd phone anyway.  Was just asked to confirm my name, reg. and address NOT chassis number although I did ask him to confirm the chassis number with me. 

I've been given a case number and will receive the plaque in 1-2 months as they are being sent out in batches.

If anyone wants a spare plaque stevep is in contact with the makers and they will make you a back up copy if you wish to have one (of course you need to be the owner of the car the plaque belongs too), see this thread

got mine today 0100 info says to put it on passenger side, is that right?
 thought it would be better around the gearstick somewhere, at least you would be able to see it.

drivers side door is the location , ps are you interested in a spare one ?, then you can do one on ashtray lid and one in proper place
