you need to take out all the switches and the plastic surround which goes round the clocks.
remove the lower dash trims.
unplug the glove box light and basically any wiring ie speakers etc.
take apart the heater sliders etc (mind you, you'd have to do that to remove the plastic surround).
on either end of the dash there is a screw/bolt, undo both.
in the engine bay, remove the scuttle cover and feel around for the two 10mm bolts either side, about a quarter of the way in from either end.
then pull, wiggle etc and it should come out. it helps to remove the steering wheel for clearance.
