Right, I used this at the weekend.
I treated the missus' motor to a full days wash and polish, and as part of that tested the following products, all done by hand...
Poorboys SSR2. Definitely needed a machine polisher to use this effectively. By hand it took AGES to breakdown the polish. Perhaps if you spent a long time you would get better results, and by long, I mean LONG. Popeye arm time.
Poorboys Black Hole. Lovely polish, easy to use, gave great depth to the paint. Its more of a glaze than a polish to me, as it didn't really remove many defects, but gave the paint so much depth it masks them. Thats kind of what it says on the tin though so overall thumbs up.
Autoglym Super Resin Polish. The old favourite. I'm afraid to say this was just as good, if not better than the Black Hole, as it glossed the paint just as much and I think removed more defects. I also tried Black Hole on top of the SRP and I could not see any noticeable improvement either.
Conclusion... The SRP is much cheaper than the Black Hole, and without a machine, I could not improve upon the finish left by the cheaper Autoglym product. This has been proven more scientifically on detailingworld.co.uk too.
A layer of collinite on top of the SRP gave an awesome finish too.
