GTi to TDi backbox compatibility......
« on: 18 November 2008, 20:02 »
Will a two litre eight valve backbox fit a 1.9TDi? Gti is 3dr, TDi is 5dr.

Nope the TDI models use the hudraluic clutch and cable select gears the same as the 16v and VR6, and even then its slightly diffrent shape bell housing so im not sure if you could even convert.   i get the feeling the early non turbo and Turbo diesels may have used the 8v box.
