Strut braces fo Edition 30, anyone?
« on: 16 November 2008, 23:04 »
Just came across the front strut brace that seems to fit the GTI.
Made by OMP (www.opracing.it)

Anyone tried front strut brace in GTI?
Is it worth the money?

I've looked into this briefly in the past and the downside for me is that you have to bin the engine cover and I doubt that you would feel much benefit unless you acually RACE the car on track. Awesome have a silver carbon fibre one on display in their showroom, but it is for the MKIV. If it had been for the MKV I would have been tempted

I fitted one to my previous car, a MINI (the new style), and it made a LOT of difference. And that was just a top brace. If you fit both a top, and a bottom brace, and combine it with a rear one, i think it will feel pretty good!

On my list of things to do for sure!

....

Hmm....I've heard that unless you do track, it's not really worth it because the Mk5 platform is pretty good already. :undecided:
