ECS Dogbone mount
« on: 12 November 2008, 12:17 »
I've read a thread on Tyresmoke (featuring RR ) that mentioned cabin vibration from installing the ECS Dogbone mounts.  Any users here care to share their experiences as it a very cheap mod and from what I have read, well worth doing on a modded car.  Only thing worrying me is this vibration inside the cabin bit - my wife wouldn't be pleased  :lipsrsealed:

Thanks for that Mat and I shouldn't have raised this thread in the first place as I did a search after posting this thread and found this http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=93609.0    :embarassed:

Had it fitted for about three weeks now, and have felt no vibrations at all.

I was told that with DSG there would be VERY little difference and that it wouldn't be noticeable anyway. They were right!!

In terms of vibrations or performance/handling advantage?

Vibration

I can't say about performance and handling as I had it fitted along with some other performance mods.

cough......

Plus Points
Considerably reduces engine movement under all conditions
Car feels tighter
May lead to reduced wheelspin and better control as transition from decel to accel can be made smoother.
Reduced wheel hop /axle tramp type vibrations
Fabulous cost/benefit ratio
Can easily be reversed if reqd
Vastly improves the clutch judder I used to have at the biting point

Minus Points
Does increase the level of vibration felt through pedals/handbrake , although this is very minimal.
For me its not even a consideration.

Summary
This is how it should have come from the factory : GET ONE :
