Lower ball joint..
« on: 11 November 2008, 19:05 »
I am helping my mate with his rocco tomorrow, doing a cv, lower ball joint and wheel bearing.   When doing mine the ball joint was held in with nuts and bolts... his is exactly the same but no nuts or screws.. they seem to be studs?  Is there another way of getting these out or will I have to dust off the grinder? Ben

sound like what i had on a astra once apparently they are rivets i drilled mine out and knocked them through but if you have got a grinder it will be a lot faster

hmm i think i recall way off in the distant past reading from the factory sometimes the balljoints were riveted on, the replacements are held on with regular nuts n bolts.  I'll dig out my MK1 haynes and see if it mentions anything.
