Does anyone know if you need an uprated fuel pump for Stage 2 Revo... if you do, then I'll probably not go down that route until I learn more about the full effects of fitting one - I've read that it causes long-term problems in some posts.

you don't need an uprated fuel pump for stage 2, just exhaust and intake. There is stage 2+ map for fuel pump, intake and exhaust

Thanks for that.  Its just that I read the following on the Revo site and wondered about the 4-bar fuel pressure regulator...

Stage 2 software produces 10-15% for power when used with:

An aftermarket performance exhaust system
A 4 bar fuel pressure regulator
An optional aftermarket diverter valve
And a Revo SPS

The 4 bar fuel pressure regulator requirement is for the old 1.8T cars.

It is NOT a requirement for the 2.0TFSI cars.

Speak to Keith at JKM about this....he will tell you everything you need to know. Alternatively, see my recent post that documented my modifications as that explains the basics behind the fuel pump situation.

Stage 2 doesn't require the uprated HPFP.

Stage 2+ is specifically adapted for cars with an uprated HPFP. It basically makes the turbo hold boost a little bit more in the mid range as fuel pressure is no longer an issue. Result is bit more torque in the mid range, which is where you want it!

Thanks for the advice guys.  It always helps to have some kind of info when approaching people like Keith as 1. You don't look like a complete tool  2.  You can appreciate and understand their advice better

Ditto to what everyone else has said.

I asked Keith at JKM and Revo the same question - NOT necessary for Revo2 UNLESS you experience big dips in your power curve which manifest itself as power interruption spikes while driving. That's the great thing about using someone like Keith/JKM - They've got the experience and diagnosis tools - Car Doctors! And they aren't constantly trying to sell you something they've got on a shelf.

As we used to say in my amateur bicycle racing days - "If it works, don't mend it!!"
