Strange looking oil filter
«

Decided to give my VR6 an oil change so i went out and got the essentials
When i took the oil filter out i thought they had sold me an air filter instead
Its different to any other ive seen before when ive done oil changes on my previous cars.
Does it just fit inside the casing of the one thats all ready on ?

Yes.
Remove the housing, remove the old filter and slot the new filter in.
Thats exactly what i thought when i first got the vr, that they had given me an strange looking air filter

Make sure you undo the right one, the oil filter housing is the one at the bottom that points downwards, there is a drain key in the middle of it.
The one further up also looks like an oil filter but is infact an oil cooler.

No probs.
Have you put more oil in?
DON'T run a vr6 with only 4 litres in it

It should take 6 litres if you have changed the filter as well
