Bumper/Splitter help.
« on: 08 November 2008, 21:25 »
Hey.

Im going to roll 2 questions into one thread, hopefully your be able to answer them for me.

my car, which i purchased 2days ago, doesnt have the red trim on the front bumper, but does on rear. is this because the front aint an original GTI bumper? if not, would i be able to obtain a new one from VW? and a rough idea on prices would be coolio.

2nd, as ill be hitting the car with the lowering stick, im figuring the spiltter wont help with regards to ground clearence, so therefore is there any smaller spitters available from VW?, im led to believe theres a less deep one without the holes in?

Cheers guys!

1) ya its had another chucked on it, you could try VW but they probably wont be able to source one now. a good 2nd hand one is your best bet, or carefully mask up the trim on yours and spray it.

2) yes, a non GTI one will be smaller :)

no that wouldn't be a good idea, big bumper is even deeper.  plus big bumpers on a car with small windows just looks rubbish.  Don't spoil the old skool look!
