PB to ABF swap
« on: 08 November 2008, 09:44 »
Hi, I am posting on here on behalf of my bro as he is doing said engine swap. Would he be able to use the PB gearbox or not? Also, found a mk2 16v (I think its from a KR?) gearbox on ebay. would it be possible to use that if not the PB 'box? Would there need to be any other mods to transmission, i.e. clutch, driveshafts, etc, or anything else to swap for the conversion?

Thanks in advance, Matt.

Using the 16V gearbox would mean you'd need a 16V clutch, as it has a large input shaft than the 8V gearbox - stronger clutch.

You might like to swap the front brakes out for 256 or 280mm brakes plus the 22mm master cylinder which will give you brakes less likely to wilt under pressure.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
