Rite
1. clean them properly

2. any pitting or corrotion knock back either with a sander or by hand ( iknow what i'd use)
Start with 180 grit then down too 240 and so on down to 500 grit
3. prime them up either using a etch primer or a 1k primer ( u dont need to go mad)
if u etch prime just a dusting should do so u wont need to sand back, if u 1k prime just a light scuff over with 500 again should be fine
4. degrease them (any good refinsh place will have degreaser, spirit or water based)
5. Tack cloth them to remove the excess dust
6. basecoat them in ur white or what ever ur using, couple of coats
7. DRY!!!!
8. Laquer, 2 coats
9.DRY PROPERLY HARD
10. if ur pinstriping with stickers, stick away, if ur doing it with paint mask up the areas u dont want red and the areas left open lightly key up the area with some fine scotch brite pad and then repeat, paint 2 coats, dry, laquer 2 coats, dry
Thas a home way of doing what i do every day at work
