Heater constantly blowing hot air

Hope someone can throw some light on this for me. Right hand side vents are blowing hot air out even when on 16 degrees or low.
Passenger side working as it should.Makes for uncomfortable ride even at this time of year.
05 GTI so out of warranty but have got one with warranty direct where toy can take your car to main dealer.Hopefully they will fix it .Anyone got any ideas what it is.

Don't know if this will work for you but try turning on the ac, use the econ button, adjust your temps on both sides then switch back to auto mode.

If you know someone with VCDS (vag-com) then try scanning your car to see if it picks up any fault codes.
