Easy enough to make.

Check out this site:
http://www.matey-matey.com/uprated_headlight_wiring.shtml

Do a search, some other people have created a 2 relay loom which kinda helps if a cable comes loose (does on mine occasionally, but nothing a bit of electrical tape won't sort out when I get round to it.) or a relay stops working.

80/100w H4's and 100w H3's will work but what does the law over there say you can use?  here it's a 60/55w for H4's and I'm not sure about the H3's....

As long as I don't have to drive passed you and get blinded I don't care

Some people fit the 100/110w with the uprated loom (but I think they have to use thicker wires), you may have to if you want stronger bulbs too.

I've upgraded my loom both to headlamps and spots. I use 100w bulbs in the headlamps and currently standard bulbs in the spots. I'm not that bothered that the 100w bulbs are illegal, as the 55w output with the new loom is much better but compared to new cars is like using a candle. Remember cars in the 70's used the same headlamps as the mk2, Mk1 golfs, Maxi's etc. So a little brighter doesnt blind anyone -IMO.

I built my relay loom, using three fused relays and wire I had lying around.  I used one for the full beams, one for each side of the dips (for safety).

It's bloody great - even gets sodding Golf3 GTIs out of the way on the Nurburgring.

The relays weren't cheap, but you have the security of the fuses and a pair of relays.

I have standard wattage bulbs, but good quality ones and the light output is just fine (and legal).
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

idealy if building your own loom you want the fuse as close to the battery as possible ( thats just good practice )

at the monemt my headligths are standard  :(   previous golf i had a home dade loom  from 2.5mm  wire ( overkill i know )   with 55/130  bulbs in the headlamps  and 130  in the spots  :)   dip beam was legal  full beal like daylight

all the VW's have gone bar 1.
