Only new buyers please.
I'm wavering, thought about an Evo X, then a GT-R.  But I love the hatchback format for a day to day car.

If Honda do bring out a hybrid Civic type R with 5 doors and a DSG style gearbox then I might be tempted.  My VW sounds like a one man band with squeeks and rattles compared to the humble Honda I owned before, Jap stuff is very good, unfortunately.
I know what you mean

I'm liking the 335 coupe or any other high powered beemer diesel at the moment. 123d coupe is quite quirky.
VW are not as well built as they used to be. End of.

Once you get used to the speed and smell of a new car then the deftness of it's control takes centre stage.  A car must have good, linear steering above all.  I suspect the Mk2 GTI has this (hence people love them) and most BMWs are pretty good in the steering department.  The Mk5 is just above average and because of this I think it won't become a classic.

It's really nice not to be loyal to one brand.  The world is then your oyster.
