i think a pirelli is a better Buy if you dont mind the yellow stitching and Pirelli P shape alloys if its a rare potential collectors car you wanna keep. There

can only be a few hundred released because builds where stop shortly afterwards.

Depreciation will be on the same rate as any Mk5 GTi R32uk

Think the wheels look great.. stitching is ok.. seats look

But then there im sure it wouldnt be too hard to find some of those recaro's to plomp in

just goto a dealer and ask him how much to buy back your 07 23k mile car and feel ill when he tells you the price.

dont feel bad its the crap market, nothing is selling atm

added to this the hype on the mk6 Gti

over 1 month ago on a part ex (so the buyer pays more the the new car)

an 08 new car only 7k miles and only got 17k for it and i bet the dealer wish's if offered less now as
ge has it up and cannot sell it.

Motor point new Gti's are 15,999.

but if you want to just sell it with no pt ex i think you will be shocked what you will get offered.

But what is that dealer asking for that car now? True the market is not great at the moment for trade in because dealers are up to their eyeballs in stock and don't want anymore on their books, but in the private market there are people who buy with their heart and will certainly feel that an ED30 is worth way more than 14k, the Motorpoint  cars are a non-issue German paralell imports with less than 18 months warranty left and bog standard spec.

Or I'm kidding myself because I just bought one!

There was a scare a while back some of them were found to have been sitting in foriegn fields, rusting in the engine bay and things...however some are UK cars...trade ins with extremely low mileage.

I think one or two in here have gone down the MP route with absolutely no issues.

Oh and the warranty as an import is only 2 years.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

Just out of interest are the Pirellis a limited run?? Seen a nice black 5dr one today... are their prices tumbling the same as all others??

the pirelli`s seem to be holding their price a bit better as there`s less about, chesterfield vw have a 5 door dsg i was interested but the salesman wasn`t keen on taking too much off the screen price
