I would be interested to hear what Stu has to say about your wiring as I would seriously be tempted if there wasn't too much work/cost involved especially noting that most of the wiring should be there considering it's a factory fit bluetooth unit,....let us know how you got on.

Conversely it might be you are the one better placed to help tel, as you are reasonably local you could try plugging one into yours before Clive has one sent to Ireland.

True, don't mind trying it out on my car if it helps Clive?? Besides if the price is right I may just be tempted to go for it too??? But then I'd need to go for the 510 sat nav unit, don't suppose you can get them cheap Stu,...???

Clive,...let me know mate if you want it tested out on my car first,...I have the factory fit bluetooth unit on my 08 ed30.

I'm 99.9% sure it is plug and play with the existing wiring so you shouldn't have any issues.

Hi tel,

I don't have the 510 sat nav unit either, is it a requirement for Stu's bluetooth unit?  If it's convenient for you to test it out then I would appreciate the info.  Is it just the unit under the drivers seat that needs to be replaced?

Cheers,
Clive

No, the 510 isn't necessary although comes with a host of features that would really benefit the bluetooth unit and its functionality,.....

My unit is under the drivers seat too so if it is just a quick plug and play, this might make things a tad cheaper,...will have to wait for Stu to comment though on that one.

Signing off for now, let us know what you think you'd like to do.

Cheers for the help guys!  I'll have to read up on what features I will gain with the Stu's bluetooth unit as I didn't realise that some require the 510.

As above really clive, it doesn't need the RNS510 but compliments it perfectly.  You will heed Highline computer though.

Im interested to know why you need the Highline computer to fit the OEM bluetooth?

If you don't have the highline but do have the RNS-510 then it will still work as you can control the kit from either the highline display (via MFSW or Highline controls on the end of the wiper stalk) or from the Touchscreen of the RNS-510

What Steve said - One or the other, either Highline or RNS510.
