well worth it!!
« on: 23 October 2008, 14:30 »
today i took my MK3 into my mechanic to get the break cables replaced because it failed an MOT due to it being split, after a while if it beeing there he said that an engine bracket has gone aswell and asked if i wanted him to sort it out coz basically it was F@#ked. anyway a couple of hours and 70 quid later i had 2 new brake cables and an engine bracket and its soooo much smoother, before it was so rough at pulling away and reversing was just disgraceful, now its much better. thought i should tell you coz im well happy with it

Early Beetles had cable/rod operated brakes, as well as almost all pre-war stuff.  There was a hint of sarcasm, but he did say he had his brake cables replaced.  Obviously the flexi hoses.

Not got your number any more, lost my phone since we last met up. PM me it. What you want to do, meet us at the Vauxhal garage (less distance for you) or meet at Mcdonalds like last time. Up to you mate. Check the show and events section for the thread on it.
