Quaife LSD fitted & RR results
« on: 21 October 2008, 15:33 »
Picked her up this morning after having the Quaife LSD fitted, looking forward to a blast on the track and seeing the difference, maybe Silverstone on 28th.
Also had 2 runs on the rolling road while I was there:

309.5 hp / 288.4 lb/ft
307.4 hp / 290.4 lb/ft

As its a DSG box the readings are a couple of percent down on the true output.
Now the clutch worry, the worms are well out of the can!

Edition 30, Brembo GT brake kit, Revo stage2+ 334 Bhp, Full Milltek Hi-Flo exhaust, Forge Twintake, Forge silicone hoses, Forge 'TWINtercooler', Forge DV valve, KW Variant 1 suspension, H&R anti-roll bars, Powerflex engine mounts, Quaife ATB Diff, OSIR Carbon.

Nice figures mate.. Would love to see what difference the LSD makes...
What clutch worries do you have mate? Torque figures aren't huge, but it's a beauty of a flat torque curve and holds it all the way..

Be good to see how much your times improve round the track. Do you keep records of your best laps around every track you have visited?

The Diff was £1500 fitted, but it did take a week as the gearbox was sent away to a specialist.

Ask Hurdy about that!

Torque figures aren't huge, but it's a beauty of a flat torque curve and holds it all the way..

Hmmmm . . . the torque curve may be flat, but what kills the DSG clutches is the rapid rise of the torque curve, and Neil's plot is showing that.

Neil, if your remap is a custom one, I'd be tempted to ask them for a "softer" rise to the torque curve, rather than the instant "full-on" curve that you have at the mo.

Yes I have a camera set up in the car (your not aloud to time laps on a trackday) and replay it later and time it then, I dont fastforward honest.
